For a sweet friend…

It’s a wonderful thing to work every day with people who are so talented  but also have wonderful personalities, stick with you on the good and bad days and just seem to “click” with you. I work with two of those people who have become very dear friends. Becky Olsen is one of them, Lisa Strahl the other.  It’s Becky’s birthday today and this card is for her. Now that I think of it, perhaps I should have used some of Becky’s awesome stamps on this design. Instead I used my own. Great friend I know but I think she’ll forgive me. I just couldn’t resist using a few stamps from my August release so you’re getting a super early sneak peek. :) I designed this card to be fun, sweet, whimsical, colorful and exuberant, just like Becky herself. Happy birthday my friend!

Birth Date Wishes

I paired up some of my new stamps with the Newspaper Ads scrapblock and scraps from a Lemonade 6×6 paper pack by Basic Grey. I seriously cannot get enough of it. Prepare to see lots of it as I cannot bear to throw out a single scrap! For this project I color blocked and stitched it together to form my main background layer.

Supply list:

Stamps: On the Desk (The Rummage Bin line) by CHF
Script Essential Expressions (MLM line) by CHF
Newspaper Ads Scrapblocks by CHF
Ink: Black, Rich Cocoa & rose Red Memento Ink by Tsukineko
Paper: Simply Smooth Vanilla Cardstock by CHF, Lemonade 6×6 paper pad by Basic Grey
Other: Lemonade Chipboard by Basic Grey, ribbon by Creative Impressions, bling & flower by Prima, sewing machine, pink marker

Happy Creating!

Beautiful card Julia. I’m sure she’ll forgive you. It’s the thought that counts, not which stamps you use.

I’ve been looking at getting that scrapblock but my hands are tiny so I am not sure I could use it. Even the backgrounders are hard for me. But this card sure makes it tempting. :) LOVE it for sure! I am sure she enjoyed it too!

I just adore that card Julia, it is gorgeous!!!
Can’t wait to get it into my hands so I can gaze at it lovingly for hours at a time! And I LOVE your stamps, so it is only fitting that you make a card for me using your stamps!!!
    You are the best!!!
