Simply Saturday…a dirty dozen challenge

Each month the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen Design Team and Alumni (that’s me) have a challenge. While I’ve missed the past couple, I was determined this month NOT to miss it. It’s always fun and this month’s challenge really caught my eye. What was the challenge? A one layer card (sigh…love these!!!!!), use masking or reverse masking (cool technique!) and for the restricted element…no pink. (Gasp! I actually thought this wouldn’t be a problem but who knew I’d be in such a pink mood?! Everything I wanted to pick up and play with was pink!) Well…I managed to restrain myself and put together this card. While it’s simple in the fact that it’s one layer (think Simply Saturday), I did add in a lot of fun extra elements to take it up a notch.  On My Mind

I wasn’t exactly sure where I wanted to go with this design….just kind of started with some white cardstock and followed the challenge seeing where the design took me. I wanted to create a design using my new Get Well Centers stamp. I just love this sentiment! It’s one I’ve wanted made for a long time. Now since it’s Saturday, and in my theme of keeping it simple…

  • I created the stamped section with reverse masking…cut a hole from a piece of scrap paper, lay over your cardstock and stamp. Remove and you are left with a masked image area
  • card is created by die-cutting  the folded cardstock with a Nestability die from Spellbinders
  • punch little holes in each scallop to look like white eyelet lace

Have a simply wonderful Saturday!

This is such a pretty little card. I love the sentiment! and the masking. I’ve never tried using my nestabilities this way. What a great idea!
