Simply Saturday…Sweet Baby… & a proud mama
Simply Sweet…this little card is simply patterned paper, rub-ons and some stitching. I just love the vintage look of Daisy D’s products. The main tag on this design is a large rub-on transfer and I overlaid it with the round sentiment rub-on. My jumbo buttons are simply patterned paper cut out with a button QuicKutz die and tied with ribbon.

Quick Tip: layer rub-ons over each other to add depth to your design.
It’s the Canadian Victoria Day long weekend here and we’re just trying to get over the flu so I’m keeping this post REALLY short.
Hope you don’t mind.
As for the proud mama…hope you’ll allow me a little bragging rights.
My son is part of a few choirs at the high school….senior choir, men’s choir and a 30 person madrigal choir. They all took part in the Kiwanis music competition a few weeks ago and won Gold in everything. The Madrigal Singers were invited to attend the Nationals in Ottawa. James has been there since Thursday. I just got an e-mail that they’re on their way home and are bringing home a gold standing. Congratulations to the choir! I know this is a poor shot but this is a photo of part of the choir at Spring Concert. I was at the back of the gym and wow…that long lens is hard to keep steady. James is on the far left. He sings Bass.
Hope your weekend is simply wonderful,
Julia

Handsome guy- you should be proud! I love the “buttons” on your card! I never thought of that- cool idea, TFS!
Your card is so very sweet Julia….and congratulations to your son. The love of music is a life long love……going to get a bit deep here…..

wow! that’s so cool about your son. he’s a cutie, too! my 1st grader sang a made up song to me yesterday, and it was actually pretty good! (bragging rights, too, ok?) i was just hoping maybe she had a future in choir. i will have to share this story with her.

And that baby card is just the cutest! Love the design!
What a sweet baby girl card that is (I have a piece of that Daisy D’s paper…hmmmm…)! And congrats on your son and his choir’s success — you have every right to brag.
Using the address provided on your “email me” link, I emailed you a couple days ago and wondered if you received it. ? Since you guys are still recovering from the flu, there’s no need to rush a reply. Just curious if you’d received it. Hope you all get better soon!
Happy long weekend, Julia. Beautiful card. And a hearty congratulations to your son and the rest of the choir. I sang choir in high school and beyond, and LOVED it. What a great accomplishment to garner all those golds!

Your card is beautiful and so sweet! Love the rub ons!
Congrats to James and the choir — that is definitely something to be proud of!
Enjoy your weekend!
Julia this card is so very sweet!! Congratulations on your son, I know you are proud and this accomplishment will stay with him for life.
What a lovely card! So sweet and as always, deceptively simple until you take a closer look at all the wonderful elements that work together so cohesively.
Sorry to hear you’ve a sick household, especially for the long weekend. Your son would have had some good weather here in Ottawa though, and I hope he got to see some of the sights. Ottawa is lovely this time of year, especially with the Tulip Festival. Congratulations to him and his choir for their many achievements! How wonderful!
Best wishes for the long weekend!
Congratulations to your song and his choir! I am always so… envious of anyone that can sing (my 4-year-old will ask me to not sing along with the radio in the minivan, if that tells you anything about my vocal ability)! That card is absolutely darling! I actually just took a break from making a set of ATCs which use that same line of Daisy D’s papers! Thanks for the rub-on tip. I was playing earlier with putting some on a flower. It was lots of fun!
I remember that Proud Mama feeling. I loved following Sam and his choir adventures. Congratulations to James and all of his singing contests. They will be great HS memories as well!
Such a sweet, darling card! Love the die cut buttons!!
How sweet, J! I LOVE those papers so combined with your style, I love it all, especially those big buttons!!
How proud you must be! I love the paper and the rub-ons! That little girls is to die for! And the buttons are perfect!
