Bloom, Blossom, Flourish, Grow…

I designed this card a while back from my daughter and have never shared it on-line.  I decided after talking about the Crop-a-dile, now was the time to do that! This is a very clean, simple card, the beautiful embellishments are the feature here. I absolutely adore the gorgeous line of Designer Snaps and Eyelets by We R Memory Keepers…they are stunning. Perfect for a very special project! Each package has combonation of 6 beautiful metal snaps and eyelets. The metal is all embossed and comes in colors, pressed metal and some are even jeweled. I’ve been hoarding a nice little stash in a drawer and also sent some away as Christmas presents to some close friends.

Bloom, Blossom, Grow Card

This card design using a very simple layout. I wanted a clean fresh look. I love the large amount of white with the little touches of pink and Apricot. I started off with the main panel and these beautiful rub-ons. The photo doesn’t do them justice. They are shimmer rub-ons by Royal & Langnickel (purchased from Michael’s) and have a very fine shimmer sparkle to them in person.

I’ve been experimenting a bit lately with some rub-ons. They are a fun, clean look and are super easy to use. I’ve been finding them quite addictive. 🙂 As you know, I’m always trying out new things. Don’t worry, rub-ons won’t be replacing stamping but you will be seeing them from time to time. These Royal & Langnickel rub-ons are beautiful, but if you are new to rub-ons, they are probably not the ones I would start with. This line is a little harder to work with…you really have to press hard and work at getting them onto your paper. There is benefit of this though…since they are difficult to get off the backing, you are less likely to have problems with them sticking to their backing or some scrap paper on your desk.

After applying the rub-ons, I matted the white sqare with an 1/8″ larger mat of Pretty in Pink and then a 1/4″ larger mat (1/4″ larger than the pink layer) of the Apricot. For the embellishement, I used my very favorite Prima flower, Martini and layered it with a smaller apricot flower from the Prima Bitty Bag(both from my local scrapbooking store, Scrapbook Studio). To the center of the flowers, I punched a larger hole with the 3/16″ punch on the side of my Crop-a-dile. This made my designer snap (also from Scrapbook Studio) easy to insert through my flowers. I then set the jeweled snap with my Crop-a-dile using the D-4 setting. If you read yesterday’s entry, you’ll remember that the letter/number combo you are using should face each other to the inside of the tool. To attache the flower embellishment to the card design, I used a glue dot from Stampin Up. These are so sticky and I just love using them to attach any hard to hold embellishment.
