Simply Saturday…Easter Wreath

It’s the Saturday of Easter weekend so here’s a simple spring wreath for you.

Just simple stamping and a few colored pencils. I love colored pencils on Kraft.

Quick Tip: Don’t be afraid to stamp off the cardstock for a partial image.

An Art Journaling Mini

So this is it.

My favorite project in a very long time.

Messy.

Inky.

Bright & fun.

Having stained fingers just makes me happy. Bizarre, I know!

I created this tag mini art journal for my daughter. She loves to journal and I hope the beautiful colors will inspire her and also remind her of how much she is loved.

Today I’m sharing all the inky details of this mini in the CLASSroom. I hope you’ll join me!

lost & found

This time of year, I like to do a lot of spring cleaning. Things seem to pile up over the winter and I’ve been spending days sorting, purging and generally doing a great “clean sweep”. I’ve found a lot of treasures and misplaced items and that always makes it so worth it.

One project I found was a card I had never shared here with you. It was from a Lily Bee card class I taught last year using my Victoria Park paper line.

This is a rare card for me…one that’s made with 99.9% paper and ink. Just a couple little metal staples on it that can be left off if they are not your thing.

I’m still a huge fan of the 3D Flower Die. It’s my favourite Sizzix die and I can’t imagine what they would have to come up with to replace it in my affections. This die makes such beautiful and easy rolled roses. {love}

Quick Tip: To make the leaves, punch a circle from patterned paper or cardstock. Punch that circle again to make a curved leaf shape. You can get two leaves from one punched circle.

FAB-ric Tape, Maya Road & a Guest Designer Call

Love washi tape? I do! But I do think that fabric tape is totally fab as well. Maybe even better! It’s tougher for one thing and that texture…awesome!

How about making chevrons with fabric tape?

Or stitching it?

It’s also great for making borders, ribbon etc. etc. etc.

It’s no secret that I’ve been a huge Maya Road fan for years…long, long before I was part of the design team. If you’re like me, here’s something you’re going to want to check out!

sweet baby girl

Spring always seems to be the time to think of new birth and so here’s a sweet new baby girl design for today.

Once again, its a mixture of old and new. Ive used the DIY Thickers to create the sentiment. They are made of white fabric covered chipboard and look lovely without any technique whatsoever.

I love creating square cards. It always makes the layout so easy to balance. By cutting them to 4.25 inches square they will fit well into the standard card making envelope.

Die cut numbers from Pink Paislee make this card a breeze to create. I love the fun over-sized style of them and they let the age say it all.

Add a few embellishments and a sweet rub-on sentiment from Pebbles Inc. and you’re ready to attend the birthday party!

Quick Tip: Mix up all kinds of different embellishments for a fun eclectic look.

Decked Out for Spring

Anyone besides myself addicted to Pinterest?

It’s such a great place for inspiration.

A few months ago I saw a bunch of great wreath ideas that were made from picture frames. I knew it had to go on my must-try list.

The next couple weeks on the Maya Road blog, the Roadies are sharing some Wreath Inspiration. I hope you’ll join us!

My wreath was created from an old picture frame. It was purchased at Michael’s years ago and since then has been a few different projects. Don’t you love when you can recycle and reuse things?

My frame/wreath is all decked out for spring in a shabby goodness style. I’m loving all those Maya Road goodies mixed together.
