Use it Up

It’s that time of year when I’m anxiously awaiting all the new Summer CHA releases to hit the shelves. How about you? I have a little wish list going and I can’t wait. New product always seems to inspire.

In the meantime, I’ve decided to use up some of my scraps. For today’s cards I’m using up one my Victoria Park 6×6 paper pads.

My first card I’ve pieced together into a stitched grid after punching out my scraps with a bracket square shape. Sponging all the edges with the same ink helps tie the design together.

Quick Tip: Punches are a fabulous way to use up scraps. If you have a punch that you love to use, punch out a shape to store for later use.

My second card punches out the cardstock instead of the patterned paper. The scraps of paper are then adhered behind each negative shape for a different look. Little tabs created from 1/2″ strips of folded paper make a fun and easy border on the right of the design. To finish it off, I’ve used the wonderful Lily Bee ABC stickers to create a curved sentiment and then accented it with some swirly machine stitching.

Today I’m on the Lily Bee blog sharing these designs for Lily Bee’s Cards on Wednesday post. if you like cards, stop by their blog each Wednesday for some more inspiration.
