pleats & stitches

The sun is shining, my family is all home and it’s a holiday today in Canada where we live. What a beautiful day. It’s Family Day and we are celebrating by just hanging out together, cooking a turkey and hopefully having a serious board game marathon.

Today I have a couple card designs to share with you featuring my new upcoming paper line, Victoria Park. It’s shipping out to stores March 1st…just one and a half more weeks to go!

My first card was inspired by a pillow I found in a home dec store. It had stitched box pleat ruffles and my daughter and I fell in love with it. I just had to give it a whirl with paper to see if I could transfer the look to a card design.

My second card was inspired by greens and the next upcoming celebration…St. Patrick’s Day. While this isn’t a card for it per se, the inspiration is still there. It incorporates more pleats…this time in the form of a pleated rosette.

Today on the Lily Bee blog, the product focus is Victoria Park. Stop by for some more inspiration.

If you’re celebrating something today..enjoy!

Happy Monday!

  5. Very lovely cards, Julia! I especially love your box pleated card. What a great technique and it transferred to paper brilliantly!

  6. Fabulous cards, as always. Love the detail on the pleated rosette. In BC, we are not so fortunate to have the Family Day holiday, thanks to our stingy provincial government. Glad you could enjoy it!

  7. Gorgeous cards! ;o)

  8. I love the ideas. I have so much stuff and don’t know where to begin. I guess I should by some books instead of paper and embellishments for a while.
