framed

I love seeing the new and latest trends. Some of them I like, others not so much. And that’s ok. Have fun with the ones you love and leave the others for someone else.

One trend I’ve been noticing a lot of is frames. Frames on patterned paper, frame style embellishments, frame themed stamps, chipboard frames, even frame rub-ons and transparencies. I think they are a super fun way to highlight a portion of your design. Today I thought it would make a fun Ways to Use It challenge on SCS to incorporate frames into projects. We’d love to have you play along. Check out the challenge details here.

Framed Hi

For this card I had fun pulling out my inks and some new Hero Arts stamps. I’m a sucker for pressed flower images and script. They are timeless don’t you think?

The tiny resin Melissa Frances Applique Frame highlights the little Tiny Type sentiment and embellishes the design.

Quick Tip: A large white mat frames the stamping and allows the design to “breathe”.

Supplies: kraft cardstock by Bazzill, white cardstock by Neenah, butterfly by Jenni Bowlin, Cling Old Letter & Real Flowers stamps by Hero Arts, Sepia Archival Ink by Ranger, Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey and Victorian Velvet Distress Ink by Ranger, applique frame by Melissa Frances, twine, edge distresser by Tim Holtz

Happy creating!
