WCD… a sketch challenge

My second post of the day! It’s World Cardmaking Day though and worth celebrating. Anyone having fun yet?

Today I’m sharing this card in the CLASSroom for the WCD festivities. My challenge is a sketch challenge that I hope you’ll enjoy. I always love sketches or “card architecture” as Ellen calls it. Love that name and as I’ve always had an interest in architecture, perhaps that’s why I love sketches so much. They remind me of the blueprints I used to draw in high school and college.

Here’s the link to the CLASSroom and the wonderful WCD challenges.

When you stop by the CLASSroom, make sure you scroll down. Ellen will be adding in new challenges throughout the day and you won’t want to miss them.

Happy creating!

Cards, cards, cards

In honour of World Card Making Day, I’ve been sharing mostly cards this week. Did you notice?

I love creating cards. I love creating almost anything paper craft related but I always naturally gravitate back to cards. They are a great way to share your thoughts and creativity with others.  I also love that they can be quick projects to make. Get a little creativity fix in as little as five minutes if you need a quick card. Most of mine take longer than that but when compared to scrapbook pages, they are quick to create. I also love how they use up all kinds of bits and pieces leftover from other projects. Cards have it all!

It’s a cold wet morning here today. Perfect for getting caught up on a little work around the house and then settling into my craft room to make some cards for World Cardmaking Day. There is lots going on today. If you’re looking for some challenge inspiration be sure to come by the CLASSroom. Ellen and us girls have some fun challenges for you today and of course, as always, Ellen has some great prizes to give away.

Speaking of giveaways… I’ve drawn the number for the winner of the three Scrapblock stamps. Thanks to all of you who stopped by for your lovely comments. Lots of great ideas and I wish I had more stamps to share. Random.org chose the number  33

Number 33 is Lynda who said..

I could find a receipient for cards made with each of these stamps! Have a friend with whom I played online scrabble with for years..crossword bg perfect! Love the newspaper ads for vintage cards. Of course, the journal background would work for many occasions.
Thanks for sharing.

Congrats Lynda! Please e-mail with your address and I’ll get these out to you next week. You can find my e-mail link at the top right of the sidebar.

Now of course I had to share another card with you for World Cardmaking Day. I’ve been really enjoying creating with the new Catching Fall line by Lily Bee Design. Gorgeous papers and so easy to use. I just don’t want to put them away! If you’re looking for them, I hear they are flying off the shelves at Two Peas in a Bucket.  I’ve created a Thanksgiving card design as Canadian Thanksgiving is just over a week away. It’s really sneaked up on me this year!

A Time to Give Thanks

Quick Tip: add interest to white flowers by sponging the petals with ink. I love how this personalizes it, highlights the edges and makes them coordinate with any project.

Supplies: Fiesta Innoscence flower by Prima, kraft cardstock by Bazzill, patterned papers, die cut and rub-ons from Catching Fall line by Lily Bee Design, Wild Honey and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink by Ranger, twine, velvet leaves by Prima, memo pin by Tim Holtz

I’ll be back later with another card to share and a challenge in the CLASSroom.

See you soon!
