@ the lake

It’s Labour Day weekend and I’m feeling rather sentimental.

It’s down to the last few beach days and I’d love to just hold back the clock a little and cram in as much fun, surf and sand as I can. The weather isn’t supposed to be the best but I really don’t care if it’s hot or cool, calm or rough, I just want a little more time…

I took these photos this past month on and overcast but amazingly calm day. It’s not often that one of the Great Lakes is like glass. I tried to capture the beautiful tranquility of the day in my layout design.

All elements that make up this layout are from September’s Up the Street Scrapbooking Kit. The layout base is a beautiful textured Bo Bunny dot paper that I’ve flipped over and used the reverse side. It’s sanded to reveal the texture.

I absolutely adore the Basic Grey die cut paper. This paper is from the Oliver line and instead of using the beautiful printed side, I’ve flipped it over for a serene white look. The sweet red Jenni Bowlin butterflies are a fun accent and an a small hit of color.

Quick Tip: Keeping the layout simple highlights your photos.

Wishing you a safe, wonderful and sandy Labour Day weekend!
