just bee…

yay for April! It seems as though it’s been a long time in coming.

Lily Bee Design is celebrating April with a fun contest this month. There will be one winner of the entire Lovely collection each week this month. Sound good? It’s a gorgeous line and I can’t wait to get mine in the mail.

So Sweet

There’s just something about a child isn’t there? So sweet, so full of life and the things that come out of their mouths…you just have to giggle. I find that having small children in the house makes you look at things differently. I love being able to see things through their eyes and all the things we take for granted seem fresh and new. In paper crafting these days, it seems that there are a wealth of sweet images of children. Even if the card is for an adult, they just seem to work anyways. Today for the Ways to Use it Challenge I thought it would be fun to challenge you to  create with images of children. Check out the challenge here…

Sweet Easter Card

I came across this sweet digital stamp on Etsy and couldn’t resist ordering it. That little Easter hat and chick just pulled at my heart-strings and it was so much fun to sit and color with my Copic markers. As I still had my Jillibean Soup papers on the desk and they were a perfect color combo for this image, I decided to use up some of my scraps. That’s the great thing about creating both layouts and cards. The layouts tend to leave some lovely scraps to play with and often just make themselves into a matching card.

I created my own matching big brad with the I-Top Tool by Imaginesce. It was kind of “fiddly” (quite sure that’s not a word but I’m sure you’ll get my drift) but I love the end result. I just wish I had tiny fingers and that they had designed in just a little more wiggle room. The little bit of knotted ribbon is some of the new linen ribbon that Ellen is now carrying. It’s gorgeous!

Supplies: kraft cardstock by Bazzill, patterned paper by Jillibean Soup,  Copic Markers, Neenah Classic Solar White cardstock, sewing machine, pink linen ribbon by May Arts

Happy creating and have a wonderful Easter weekend!
