sketch 56, say it with stickers

Sketch 56 is a fun, fun sketch that I’ll definitely be using again. Love those curves! I was excited to try out these stickers by SRM Stickers as they are the sponsor this week at Card Patterns. Seriously great stickers. As you can see I definitely had fun using them and the sentiments on each sheet coordinate so well together. Make sure you comment on the sketch 56 post for a chance to win a generous prize package from SRM (believe me…they are super generous!) and play along for a chance to be a guest designer for Card Patterns.

To create the sticker overlay background, I laid  strips of stickers across the striped Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety paper. I love how it kind of makes my own personalized patterned paper. And don’t you just love the bright summery colors of Garden Variety? This line just makes me smile.

To create the main flowers and circles for this design, I’ve die cut patterned paper and Craft-a-Board to create a very sturdy and dimensional design.

Quick Tip: To get the curve on the paper for this sketch, draw freehand with a pencil until you get a curve you like. If you use a light hand with a pencil, it should be easy to erase. You can also use a flexible curve design tool. You should be able to find one in most art or drafting supply stores. I’ll admit to using the first suggestion as I was too lazy to go searching for mine.

Supply List: kraft cardstock by Bazzill, Garden Variety 6×6 paper pad and Ready Set Chip Sheet by Cosmo Cricket,  twine, twill tape by May Arts, sewing machine, Circle nestability Dies and Nested Dahlia  by Spellbinders

Have a sweet day!
