Quick Tip: Don’t worry about letters all going in a straight line…especially if it’s a well-known easy to read word. Mix it up to fit your space.

simply saturday…for keeps

It’s Saturday and a great day for a simple card. This time a valentine.

Thanks for the well wishes for me and my household. The problem with a large family is everyone tends to get it but it takes a LONG time to go through everyone. I’m feeling much better. Hubby and my daughter are the last to get it so next week should be smooth sailing. Can’t wait!

For Keeps

 Have a simply wonderful day,

framed.

I adore frames.

This one is designed from Craft-a-Board, a fun chipboard-like product from Ellen Hutson LLC.  Step outs are here in the CLASSroom today if you’re interested in the how to’s.

Isn’t this little guy a cutie?

have a great weekend….

just stamp it

love stamping. It’s what drew me into card designing in the first  place. All the options and interesting ways to use the same stamp. This year’s Stamp It Cards has just been released from Paper Crafts and I just can’t wait to see this new issue.

I’m excited to have a few projects in this issue. One of the most exciting for me is this card that I created for the Stamp It Three Ways column. Three designers were asked to create projects using the same stamp set, On the Desk by CHF. As I originally designed this set, I was super excited to see it  featured and can’t wait to see what the other designers did with it!

Before I go any further…yes I DO know it is Thursday and I didn’t forget about the Ways to Use it Challenge. If you read my Monday post you’ll know that we’ve had the flu here for a while. Unfortunately, I was not immune and came down with it for the past two days.  I’m getting back on my feet slowly but haven’t made it back to crafting again yet. Hopefully today! Michele Boyer, my sweet friend, was so kind to step in and help me out. Check out her challenge here.

Quick Tip: Choose stamp sets that can be used for various occasions and layouts to get the most value.

Happy stamping!

Pressing Onward

We have a few wrinkles to press through right now. A household of seven takes a long time to get over the flu. yuck! I though this would be the perfect time to share this simple card.

There’s also been a few wrinkles with this blog. So sorry but the server was having some issues Friday and Saturday. It’s all good now though. It’s confused Feedblitz though so I’m really sorry you are getting so many updates if you use this notification system.

sketch 47

I’m having fun with this week’s Card Patterns Sketch, sketch 47. I had fun putting a unique spin on the sketch by trimming off 3/4″ of the right side of the card front. This allowed me to decorate the right side of the inside with some darling little orange rhinestones. I love being able to show a little peek at the inside of the card.

This card uses the Basic Grey Sugar Rush papers mixed up with the Sugar Rush Pieces. I love these fun die cut accents and they make for super quick cards. You can personalize the Pieces by sanding them, and adding embellishments such as the bling brackets to highlight the sentiment. To make the heart image pop more, I went over it with a Red Gelly Roll Glaze Pen.

Quick Tip: Accent the edges of your papers by sanding them to reveal the inner core.

Mixing it Up

Patterns are so much fun to mix. So many possibilities.

I’m excited to have written a tutorial on mixing patterns for the January In Touch newsletter. I hope you enjoy it.
