Revved up for Red

jks-garden-friend-close.jpg

I have no idea when it happened. It just kind of snuck up on me. I was never a “red” person. I didn’t wear it, decorate with it except for perhaps a touch on Christmas cards. So where did this current love affair with red come from?! Now I’ll be the first to admit, I still don’t use it in large doses but it does keep appearing in a lot of my projects the past few weeks. The thing with red is it pops. There’s no ignoring it. And so another Ways to Use it Challenge is born. Find ways to use red. Whether you use a little or a lot. Use a rose red, bright primary red, cranberry or a rusty red, I hope you’ll play along and get revved up for red. Here’s the challenge…

Garden Friendship

One of my favorite ways to use red is to perk up some fun vintage style designs. I love how the red really pops up the color.

Quick Tip: To tone down red accessories, sand the color off slightly or add a little ink.

Red Combos that I love…

  • red, aqua, black, vanilla
  • red, pink, line, soft yellow
  • red, white and blue
  • red, kraft and white
  • cranberry and olive
  • red, teal & olive
  • red, pink & orange
