TK Friday

It’s Friday and time for the latest Thomas Kinkade release. Seriously…this is one of my favorite images yet! Once again it’s one of the smaller vignette sizes so it takes less time to color and is also super easy to work with on a card design. The hardest part of this project is going to be who to give it to!I kept this design nice and icy by using soft blues in cardstock and Copic markers. This image really pops when stamped in black ink…looks great. I decided to go with a more misty look for this design and tried stamping it in London Fog Memento ink. It’s a gorgeous soft blue grey and it still works great with those Copic Markers. If you’ve never tried Memento Inks…they are my favorite go-to inks now. Love them! One thing I AM looking for though is a beautiful aqua dye ink. I have the Ranger Adirondack Aqua but find it a tiny bit light for my taste. I have a nice aqua shade in chalk ink but I’d love a dye ink color. I have one requirement for it…it needs to be retailer friendly. That means something I can buy at a stamp or scrap retail store. If you’ve found one…I’d love to hear what it is. :)

Now I don’t usually do this but…I’m going to take the weekend off from blogging. I’ve been getting headaches all week and this week has been a wild one to say the least,  so don’t worry when I don’t show up tomorrow. I’m fine.  I just need to take a deep breath. 😉

Have a great weekend and see you Monday!

As for aqua ink, what about Memories Mint or Soft Teal?

I know that Heather’s Stamping Haven in Ottawa and the Stamp Barn in Stittsville carry this line so it’s retailer friendly.

  3. Another beautiful card. Until this release I have not been drawn to the TK line – but this image has me hooked.
Rest, relax, renew – hope you’re feeling better soon.

  4. Beautiful card in beautiful colors-tfs. Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend.

  5. This is just beautiful!!! I think we all deserve a weekend off and hope you have a relaxing weekend with no headaches.

  6. I deliberately covered your image while reading – I knew I was going to be awed – and I was. What a darling scene! Your colour choice is, as always, spot on, and really does make the image pop. I think the hint of red really makes a difference, too.
Rest, relax and get rid of the headaches. They can be poopers to a fun day!
BTW, I, too have been searching out a nice aqua. I like my little un-named AG cube but I also like my Versafine Deep Lagoon. It can, at times, pass as aqua (it is more vibrant) but for details, like words, it works well for me.

It’s out! Yippee!! I know who you can send the card to…..ME!!! :) Just kidding. Hope you can get rid of the headaches. I get those a lot and they bug me to no end. Take a break and relax.

  12. Hmm – dreamy Christmassey – wonderful

  13. How about marvy uchida for your aqua ink? I’m a versafine kind of girl myself… Not usually a TK fan, but this is luverly! The weather has been so soggy and cold in these parts that it’s enough to make you think ‘winter’!
p.s. If you have been having a lot of thunder storms in your area, they may be causing your headaches( low barometric pressure)

  14. Fabulous card and I love the new image, very pretty.

  15. Just beautiful, Julia! Love the colors you chose and style of ribbon.

  16. Beautiful. So serene and peaceful.
