Vintage & Fresh… a little experiment

Published by Julia Stainton at 6:40 am under Card Designs, Cornish Heritage Farms

I love calendars. I love planning on them and I really enjoy playing with them as a design element in my projects. For this design, I thought it would be super fun to try pairing up some very vintage-style images with a clean fresh look and color combo. I’m really excited with how it turned out. It actually works!

So…you’ve probably figured out that this is another sneak peek at my new Night Before Christmas stamp set. I love this color combo and just in case you can’t see it too well on your screen…it’s Iced Teal and Spring Willow Light cardstock by Prism Papers. I love the icy crisp look. I’ve gone really clean on this design and simply stamped the images in Black Memento Ink.I think it’s my all-time favorite ink and I never put it away. Trust me…I’ve tried out a lot of different blacks. For a little embellishment, I added some bling berries in greens and blues.

Now for those of you who plan on entering the Summer Stamp Star Design Challenge…you have until tomorrow to upload. Deadline for the first challenge is 9am CT Monday morning. We’ve had some great entries but hope you’ll join us too if you haven’t already!
