It Ain’t Much

Published by Julia Stainton at 5:56 am under Card Designs

It ain’t much…but it’s mine. My little corner of extreme mess creativity. I’ve had a few people ask me lately about the status of my craft room. You know the new one I’ve been talking about for oh…hmmm… 18 months now. It’s still there and waiting. I actually got my hopes up as I really thought I was going to be able to get in there for July. I’m just dying to get organized and have my own little space. One with a door that I can close now that the kids are now home for the summer.

Anyhow…I did a massive clean about a month ago and decided to take some “before” pictures. Before the new craft room…not before I tidied up pics. I’m crazy but not THAT crazy! I’m sure to some of you it still looks messy but believe me…this is as organized as I’ve been in a few years. Sad thing is, it only looked like this for two days. I just keep telling myself that a messy desk is the sign of a creative mind.

When I get into my new space, I’ll share details on how exactly I store all my goodies but until then, I’ll just highlight a few of my new favorites…

  • I’m loving my new stamp storage from Organize More so much so that I’ve ordered one more 48 ink pad organizer…I’m totally addicted to ink
  • The two new units from Best Craft Organizer are fabulous. I was amazed at how much stuff these would hold. I wish I had more space in my upcoming room as I would definitely order more if I had the space.
  • The Clip-it-ups rock! One for the top of each craft organizer…these are amazing for holding all my favorite stamps and goodies so that I can find them easily.

That’s the peek at my workspace, such as it is. I can’t wait until I have after pics to show you. Of course…I think I’ll have to wait, at least a few more weeks. Patience, patience….

Have a good one!
Julia

Aah… If I could only have those wonderful storage units.I have been maintaining that philosophy that creativity comes from confusion…I do know where things are …sort of…

thanks for sharing your *before* photos! I can’t wait to see your *after* ones too! :) ….not as much as you though, I’m sure! …it’s *painful* to be so close and not *in!*

Those organizers and clip-it-ups are so nice!

You craft space is a whole lot tidier than mine. :) In my space, the messier the better. I think if I had more than an 8 1/2 x 11 space to work with I’d freak out. Must be why I’m trying to clean it up now, so I can buy some more stuff. ;)

Love to see how crafters “organize”. Guaranteed that more space/room is directly proportional to the accumulation of stuff. Meanwhile the actual work space remains the same! lol Hope you get into your new craft room soon. TFS
Are the rubber stamps safe to hang in front of a window?

Wow, that’s a great space! And pretty clean too! I’m on vacation for a couple weeks and one of my ‘tasks’ is to clean up my craft room and reorganize … I can’t wait to see your photos of your new space. Love the storage that you have!
