Simply Saturday… simply smile

I have a couple simple, fresh cards to share with you today. They both feature sweet stamped images from the most recent Kim Hughes release, Go Fish. My absolutely favorite image from the set is the beautiful waterlily. My mom had a lovely pond with waterlilies and there is something so beautiful and peaceful about them.

Smile

This first design is colored with Copic markers. I punched a square out of a piece of scratch paper to create a mask and then stamped the waterlily through the square. It was super easy to airbrush in the water with the mask in place and then color in the rest of my design.

Quick Tip: After placing my Kaiser rhinestone rectangles, you could see the little tabs of adhesive that kept both squares together. I used some super sharp mini scissors to snip this away and keep the look nice and clean.

Dropping You a Line

This image was stamped with Stazon ink onto watercolor paper and then watercolored with dye-based markers.  It’s super easy to go around each area with a marker and then pull the color towards the center with a waterbrush. I’ve always love the soft art-feel of watercolor. I kept the rest of the design simple for a fresh look. Don’t you just love that big embroidered K & Co. brad? I picked up a package at Michael’s and the color and texture is sooooo pretty.
