wow. It’s been quite the week. The kids especially are needing a little extra care. Monday we had a funeral for my hubby’s great aunt, Wednesday we found out that my two youngest have to change schools this Fall and yesterday we buried Sherman. Thanks so much for your sweet comments on the loss of Sherman. We really appreciate them and your support overwhelming.
It’s been hard to get much creating done but I do have a card design to share with you today. It’s going out to my son’s grade one teacher. She has been the best this year. It’s been so exciting to see the growth. My boy is reading English and French, enjoying school and feeling confident. She will be sincerely missed. We’re busy winding down the last few weeks of school. I know for many of you school is already out but high school exams start next Friday and primary students have another two weeks. We’re also busy with getting ready for a grade eight grad. We bought the new black suit, white shirt and grey tie last Saturday and wow …. he’s looking so grown up. I hope you won’t mind me sharing some proud momma pics after the grad. 🙂

Lots of stamping on this card design. I used stamps to create the backgrounds and sentiment for this teacher card. I thought it would be much more interesting to stamp the ruler repeatedly on the angle. My tree is my favorite part of the design. I used Maya Road chipboard and then altered it with paint, distress crackle paint and an embossing folder. I’m having so much fun adding texture to it. If you’re looking to customize chipboard…it’s MUCH faster than trying to adhere patterned paper.
Quick Tip: Add red buttons to a tree to add the look of apples.
