Oh Canada!

Published by Julia Stainton at 4:57 am under Cornish Heritage Farms

My favorite day of the summer has to be Canada Day. Friends, fun, fireworks, the beach. It’s always the best. I’m looking forward to Canada Day and I’m sure quite a few of you are as well. I was really excited to be asked to create this fun Canada Day themed project for the latest issue of Crafts ‘n Things. I can’t wait to pull it out this July 1st to decorate the table with. The flags are designed to pull out and give to each child. They have a fun little tag on them that says {celebrate} Eh? I just couldn’t resist, eh? wink

I have a fun giveaway to share with my Canadian readers. One of my favorite stamp sets is the Great Canadian Stamp set and I have one extra set that is looking for a good home. This set is sadly retired so you’re only going to be able to get it here. Oops…just in case you’re interested… there are a few of these sets still for sale here. If you think you’d make some great Canadian themed projects, leave me a comment on this post and I’ll enter you for a chance to win. You have until Friday morning 9am EST to leave a comment. Winner will be drawn randomly and announced on Friday.

Great project, Julia. Do I have to be Canadian to win? I would love this set.

I’m not in Canada, so kick out my entry if I’m not eligible… but that’s a darling set (I’m a scrapbooker seeing lots of potential in that set, plus, my son and husband play hockey :) Such a pretty project, too!

Oh man I would LOVE this set! I am in the US for bit and another Canada day I am out of the country for…3 yrs in a row I think. Sigh. I am an Ottawa girl and really nothing better than Ott downtown on Canada day…rain, shine or snow (we’ve had all!) Still I am making my own this yr, planning to bring a Canadian flag cake to the office…

What a wonderful set!! My oldest daughter has been learning about the Government. Would I ever love to use a set like this on her scrapbook pages from her legislature visit! Thanks for the great inspiration, and for the chance to win!!!

Cute set - there are not that many Canadian themes out there! I just had family here from Germany, so a Canadian touch would be great for the scrapbook pages of them.

Yaaayyy! Finally a contest for Canadians! Canada Day fireworks are the BEST! Throw in a Canada Day cake covered in strawberries, and you’ve got a perfect celebration! I’d love to spend it in Ottawa sometime, but with hubby’s current job it isn’t going to happen soon….
Love your project - trying to figure out how to re-create it if I don’t win.

Hi Julia. I’d love, love, love to win this set. My cousin from England is coming over for a visit at the end of June and would love to be able to make some cards with this set for her. Really looking forward to them being here on Canada Day for all the fireworks!!! Keeping my fingers crossed Eh!

    Thanks.

What a great set. I have a ton of ideas that it would be perfect for. My brother-in-law is in the forces, and we celebrate Canada Day big time.

I am proud to be Canadian and can never find any good Canadian stamps. This stamp set would be great to go with Canadian paper I found and make some cards for my friends who are in the states to remind them of their friendly and helpful neighbours. Thanks for the chance to win.

It would be soo cool to win something Canadian, eh?! Oh, cheeky me, but living in Montreal means we ‘quietly’ celebrate our nation’s big day. Unlike those noisy blue folks the week before, that is ;) Woot Woot for the maple leaf!!
Thanks for the chance to win, Julia!

I’m in Newfoundland, b’y. Canada’s youngest province and I’d love to win this set. We never used to celebrate Canada Day but my husband became a Canadian citizen two years ago and now Canada Day has a lot more meaning for us!

What a great set with many ideas for projects. Although I’m in the US, we live near Windsor and visit there often and have the memories to prove it. Does it count that we can watch the CBC news here?
