So Sweet Friday

jks-sweet-tulip-slice.jpg

It’s sweet Friday! My hubby has the day “off” today and is home busy working on the roof. You know what that means…the sooner my roof is redone, the sooner he can start on my craft room. I’m busy trying to get down to business to  finish up another stamp set. I’m a little behind as I had to finish up the taxes…my huge project for this week. Honestly…I hate doing them. I’m sure if I actually filed things and kept things up to date it would be a breeze. I think that’s on next week’s to do list….set up a better system! Now you are probably thinking that I’m REALLY late. Well, the Canadian deadline is the end of the month. I’m so glad I live in Canada! lol It allows me to procrastinate an extra couple weeks! wink.

I’m super, and I mean SUPER, excited that James was able to recover ALL my missing files! Yay baby! What a relief to have my inbox, addresses, stored e-mails and calendar appointments back! I’m so glad he persevered. He also set up my Wacom tablet again…the one I got for Christmas 2007 and never used! We’re both committed to learning how to use it and of course, two minds are better than one.

One thing I want to get right at this morning is announcing the winner of the Scrapblock goodies. I used the random.org integer generator to come up with number 44. Deb Rymer…congrats! Please e-mail me with your address and I’ll get them in the mail! Thanks everyone for your lovely comments and for stopping by.

Sweet Tulip Girl

This card was so fun and quick to and and I didn’t use watercolors. I used markers! I simply colored a line around the inside of each section with a dye based marker. I used a waterbrush, but you can also use just a fine wet paint brush, to add a little water and gently pull the color to the inside of the area. Make sure you use a permanent type ink when stamping so that the image doesn’t bleed when you add water. I worked section by section and let them dry for the most part in between. If the design is too wet, it will run into other areas.

Quick Tip: Make sure you use watercolor or a watercolor paper-like note card so that the ink from the markers can easily blend.

Have a fabulous day and happy weekend!
