Soar like an eagle

I love eagle images. They represent freedom and are perfect for masculine style cards. One of my favorite verses is “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 It immediately popped into my mind when I saw this image. I love it when that happens.

This card design features a new Saturday Evening Post image. It’s been a long time since I did any watercoloring so I thought I’d pull out my brush and inks for this project. I’m rather rusty but it was fun. One thing I love about watercolor paper is that you can add water if the area is too dark and then blot the area to lighten it.

Quick Tip: Watercolor on watercolor paper rather than regular cardstock. It makes a huge difference on  how easily the ink flows.

Have a beautiful Sunday!
