It’s a Wrap
Three more days until Christmas! Yikes! I have a lot still to do. Actually, we woke up this morning to a sick daughter. It seems she has anotherStrep infection so we’re just back from the clinic instead of trying to finish up some last minute shopping. I’m not sure why but she gets sick EVERY Christmas. Poor kid. I was joking this morning that I should just book her appointment for next year now. Sorry I’m a little late posting this challenge post. Days like this happen sometimes!
While I’m scurrying around trying to get things done, I do have a challenge for you. Do you have any last minute wrapping to do? This challenge is to create some quick, fun wrap for one of those presents you are giving this year. Gift bags, wrapping paper, baskets, tags…any form of quick wrapping ideas will work.
We have lots of fun wrap ideas to share with you today. Check out these ideas! Kim, Lesley, Kristine, Carole, Becky, Jen
Winter Vintage Gift Box
{Project removed for publication}
My project began with a simple light tan octagonal box that I picked up at a local store. (Canadian Tire if you live in Canada like me.
) To keep the project simple and quick, I stamped it first with the Distressed Grid Scrapblock on the top of the box and then with the various vintage signs from the Winter Vintage Signage Set. I also stamped the “signs” on each of the six sides and then added a little distress ink to enhance the vintage look. Some fun trim adds some color to the box and by change I found this darling piece of October Afternoon paper that coordinate perfectly to make a simple one layer tag.
Quick Tip: Layer Scrapblock™ patterns with other stamped elements to tie the design together.
Happy wrapping!

Very sweet Julia! Great quick gift idea AND I even know where Canadian Tire is! Hope your daughter is soon better and you can all enjoy your Christmas!
Beautiful, Julia! I just love it!
So pretty, J! I love that trim! I hope Heather feels better soon. Poor girl!
This is GORGEOUS Julia!!
What a beautiful keepsake. Love it!
Love the box!!! I have a quick question - how did you use the inks, as in what’s what? I am trying to do a better job at making items look vintagy (mine usually just look dirty!) so I would really appreciate the tip. Hope all are back to health real soon.
I got sick - strep - every Christmas until we figured out I was allergic to evergreens. When we switched to an artificial tree I no longer got sick then.
Hi Julia,
Just had a few moments and decided to stop by…always so happy when I do bc there’s always so many wonderful creations to see and I always enjoy your chatter as well. Hope your daughter is feeling better soon!
I have to tell you that my two oldest (now 15, 13) always seemed to get sick every Christmas as well…and it was usually Strep, go figure! Well, guess who I had at the dr. this morning–George, my 15 mo. old, and he is sick with a strep-looking throat although the quick test came back negative….feeling a bit better tonight though.
Oh my, sorry for the novel! Have a lovely Christmas!

You call this quick? Julia, you always make such beautiful things. This morning when I tried to visit your blog the server was down and I thought you have quit blogging. Thank God you are still here!
Hi Julia - so sorry to hear that your DD is sick - hope she’s feeling better soon!
I think I need to make a quick trip to Canadian Tire! But, before I do that, I’d like to take a moment to wish you and your family a very blessed Christmas, as you celebrate the reason for the season!
