PC Gourmet winners

Ackkkk! I am having one of those weeks! Already! Well actually I just think it’s a continuation of last week’s crazy week! So…………my profuse apologies…I just realized I never posted winners of the two PC Gourmet copies! I’m going to just get right to it so you don’t have to wait any longer. Random.org picked numbers 15 and 40, Cindy (from Winnipeg) & laura huffman. Please e-mail me ladies with your address and I will mail them as soon as they arrive. Sorry…the mail to Canada is slow!

Thanks and have a fabulous day!

Brilliance

There are so many different kinds of inks out there, it can be hard to know what to buy! I actually have quite a collection of inks that I use on a regular basis. My favorite for a metallic look is the Brilliance Ink line Tsukineko. I don’t usually give you too many sneak peeks here as I’m usually so busy I don’t have time to get ahead but…for this challenge I have a design with two new images to be released this week. The Brilliance Ink stamped vellum uses a new Scrapblock™ called Fiery Floral(released tomorrow) and the darling new Sandra Kuck image (to be released Friday) is called Christmas Angel. I think she is so precious and is so much fun to color.

Brilliance inks add a beautiful, rich touch, especially to designs this time of year. Unlike other metallic inks, Brilliance inks are stampable on vellum and other less porous surfaces. Heat set with your heat gun for a quick dry.  There are lots of other great uses for these inks. Take the time to check out what some of the other designers have created for this challenge  Sherrie, Dawn, Joanne, Carol, Val, Kim & Julie

We’d love to have you play along so be sure to check out the challenge!

Sweet Angel

It’s always funny because I always get my best shot with the card semi-backlit but you can never see the glitter that way.

jks-christmas-angle-glitter.jpg Here’s a photo close-up of the glitter in her hair. I thought she needed to shine. 🙂 You can also see the beauty of the Brilliance ink in this photo. It has a beautiful shine to it and richness of color.

I like to use quite a few markers to slowly build up color and get very subtle graduations of tone with each image. To get a nice glow around this angel..I actually started this design by lightly airbrushing the backgrounder in YR21 and airbrushing the skin in E00. It’s easy to add shading on the face from there. On almost every part of the image, I use at least three tones of a color and blend them together. It adds more depth to your coloring. When you stamp these detailed images, you’ll find that some of the shading is already there for you. This makes it easy to know where to add your shadows and highlights.
