Mad for Plaid
Do you like plaid? I love it! So warm and cozy and perfect for this time of year. I love the beautiful patterns of color and design and it always seems to add texture to projects. Today’s Ways to Use it Challenge is to find ways to use plaid in your designs. Whether you use patterned paper, a plaid stamp or somehow create your own…I’d love to see your creations. I find plaid perfect for the fall, Christmas, masculine designs and just plain about any design.
Here’s a few ideas…
- stamp your plaid in a variety of colors
- cover chipboard with plaid
- turn your plaid 45° to angle it
- mix plaids with dots, stripes, flowers…whatever takes your fancy
- stitch your plaid to get a stitched fabric look
- it you have a fine plaid…it looks darling paper pieced!

Spirit of Christmas

My 6×6″ Perfect Plaid Scrapblock™ is one of my favorite stamps. It’s so versatile. For this design, I kept the plaid stamping subtle by stamping in white on kraft. I created the heart by adhering a bunch of Basic Grey Figgy Pudding scraps onto some scrap paper and then punching with a heart punch for this fun look. It’s amazing what you can do with those little pieces. I’m quite addicted to patterned paper
and have trouble throwing the little piece away!
Wishing you good things today!

So cute and country!
I love this card. Plaid is one of my favourites too. Very comfy and cozy.
This is such a beautiful card!! I like the use of a non-traditional image with the Christmas sentiment!
So cool, love your pieced heart, great use for scraps, and they all look perfect together!
