Quotes and such

jks-courage-clip.jpg

Ugggh…. cold and rainy here, I just did NOT want to get up this morning!I think we’ve been practicing reading too much with that Dr. Suess book too much with my son in grade one! No matter…I’ve hauled myself up and started tackling the to do list! I have a lot to do as the kids are home from school tomorrow and you know how THAT goes! 😉 Anyone else having one of those days? But it’s Thursday and we need to get onto the challenge so…..

I love quotes and poems! They make such great additions to cards and scrapbook pages. I’ve always wished I had more of a way with words. My oldest son is really quite good with them though I’m not quite sure where he got that from! LOL I thought it would be a fun challenge (and an easy one too) to use quotes or poems in your design. Whether you stamp them or computer generate them…have fun with this challenge!

Quick Tip: Looking for quotes? There are a myriad of them on-line. Just google quotes and whatever theme you are looking for!

Courage

jks-courage-2.jpg

I wanted to use this cancer poem for today’s challenge.  I don’t know anyone who hasn’t had someone in there life touched by cancer. My best friend, my mom, passed away from cancer just over a year ago. My MIL had surgery and treatment for Breast Cancer last year and is now doing well. One thing I know is that it takes a tremendous amount of courage. This poem is beautiful in that it reminds me, that while Cancer is a thief…there are so many things it cannot take away.

To create this design, I decided to try out painting a light coat of Ranger Paint Dabber acrylic paint over my sentiment area. I’m totally going nuts about these paint dabbers. Can you believe I ordered SIXTEEN more colors. They just arrived yesterday. Actually…they are on sale at CHF right now…today is the LAST day if you’re looking for them.  I apologize for the poor photo…it is MUCH easier to read in person. To shake things up a little as well, I tried out using a circular layer instead of my usual square box.

Wishing you a beautiful day!
