Silhouettes
Did you ever cut out silhouettes when you were a kid? You know…the elementary school project where you sit on a stool with the light projecting your shadow on the wall where a classmate traced it out? I always thought that was the coolest thing. Now silhouette images and stamps are also super cool and quite popular these days. They are so super simple to stamp and can also be used for a myriad of fun techniques. Whether you simply stamp them, “rock and roll” them, glitter or flock them, add fun embellishments or fun resist techniques….your challenge today is find ways to use these images.
The Sun Never Sets

Ok…I’m not really an Elvis fan…somehow I missed out on all of that but I’m just LOVIN’ this silhouette image. Is he lookin cool or what? Inspired by the sentiment…I just had to stamp his silhouette in front of a sun. Paired up with this new Ambrosia Basic Grey paper...I love the fun retro feel. Now you can’t have Elvis without a little bling right?
I was pretty tickled to find that my orange MAMBI rhinestone circle fit perfectly around my circle punched sentiment. If you’re an Elvis fan…Comeback Elvis will be released tomorrow (Friday) at Cornish Heritage Farms.
Have a fabulous day!

hey thats cool! i love the sun set thingy! awesome card
Great card! I love Elvis…and the sunset is cool!
Very cool and clever, Julia! I like the way you worked around the sunset theme.
Love your card & yes, I love Elvis too!
LOVE the layout on this card!
What a neat card! I bet the recipient (hopefully an Elvis fanatic) would be “swooning” over it! Actually, my husband would love that for a birthday card! He loves to sing like Elvis and does a pretty good job but looks nothing like him! I couldn’t even do your card justice with all the cool retro-looking papers and stuff. I don’t dare show this to him - it would start off a “Don’t Be Cruel” session and then you can’t shut him up!!!! Anyway, great card and I loved the rhinestone circle. I wondered what we could do with them - I have seen them on line but hadn’t really thought about it. Oh wow, I just had a sudden flash - if he did have this card - I could just hear him now - “Thank you, thank you very much” like Elvis used to say. Boy, now you have me giggling….can’t wait to see what other releases are in store for tomorrow. Sorry to ramble - a bit tired but I really enjoyed the card.
