We Three Kings

Published by Julia Stainton at 4:55 am under Card Designs, Cornish Heritage Farms, Holiday

Last weekend I was spending some time cleaning up my stamping area. It seems like one of those never-ending jobs. Seriously…I must be the messiest stamper out there! One of my favorite things about cleaning up a huge mess is the scraps and embellishments I discover. Sometimes it’s just as easy to pair them up and create a quick card rather than put it all away. This is also a great way to come up with new ideas and put together fun cards.

O Come Let Us Adore Him

While this card is super simple…I’m loving the concept! With a lot of  scraps from the Basic Grey 6×6 Figgy Pudding paper pad on my desk, I decide to create my own “paper” by adhering strips of them together over a piece of cardstock. To make it look like all one cohesive piece, I ran it through my die-cut machine using a scalloped rectangle Nestability Die. I didn’t want to cover up my scalloped layer so I decided to stamp my We Three Kings stamp on a Clear Card Sheet with Black Stazon. Simple…but fun and different too. :)

Have a joyful day!

I love it. I have a lot of those scraps myself. Never thought to pair them to make my own paper. Thanks for the idea.

This is elegant simplicity at its finest! What a beautiful card! I never thought about combining the papers like that - and I have tons of Basic Grey!

If you are the messiest stamper, then I am the second messiest. Could it be a Canadian thing? I need to do major clean up every couple of weeks!
What a great idea to use up scraps - TFS

Wow—lovely card AND sentiment! I love it! I’ve been seeing A LOT of simple cards lately and they’re just great. I like how you paired the scraps together and put your image right on top–without covering up the pattern. I’ll keep this in mind!
