Dashing…

Published by Julia Stainton at 5:55 am under Card Designs, Cornish Heritage Farms

I seem to be dashing here and there all summer long. Trying to keep all plates in the air is tricky with all my kids at home this summer. We’re trying squeeze in as much fun as possible and still get everything done and work around a lot of different schedules. One thing we did manage to do Friday before rushing back to the city for a CT Scan is to get our new boat. We’ve been wanting one for oh…the past 19 years…and the kids are super excited. As for the CT Scan…it was for my sinuses that have been giving me killer headaches for weeks. I’m hoping to be able to get some relief from that. We’ll see.

My card today involves a different kind of dashing…

Dashing Through the Snow

It’s kind of fun making Christmas cards this early! The frosty snowy look is fresh on a hot day and I’m excited to get ahead of the game. I just adore Lesley’s two new Rummage Bin stamp sets…Primitive Christmas and Winter Vintage Signage. The above design feature the first and I just adore that sleigh and journaling box. Make sure you check out the sets! They’re perfect for cards, layouts and gift projects.

Love your Christmas card Julia. Very pretty. This summer we had the whole family down at the beach. It was a big crazy but fun all being together. And we all got some R&R time in. Ahhhhh

I hope you find some relief with your sinuses, Julia. My DH gets terrible sinus headaches — Tylenol Sinus is a staple in our house. Love that new primitive Christmas set.

Summer has been crazy around here, too, but next week we’re going on an RV trip. Not too far from home — Kansas City for some doctors’ appts for my youngest son, a KC Royals baseball game; the Truman Library (my oldest was named after Harry Truman, so we’ve always wanted to see his presidential library); then some time in the Ozarks. Still, it will be great to get away with everyone — it’s our first ‘real’ RV trip with our youngest, and he will love it!

This looks so fun Julia! I am not a boater but DH’s mom lives on the St. Clair River and I love to watch the boats play! Glad to hear it is sinuses - hopefully you can find some relief! AS USUAL, I love the new CHF sets and will most likely debt it up again!!!

Love the card Julia. Too bad about the sinuses, but I’m glad it’s nothing serious…you don’t need that. I love those new sets. We haven’t done much this summer thanks to the gas prices and all of the fires here in Calif have given my asthma some serious fits. We are planning a trip with our church over the Labor Day weekend but no internet…yikes!

Ouch, Sinus infections! It’s one thing to steal away from the housework to the ‘craft haven’ because it doesn’t follow you around! It’s another with the sinuses - unfortunately they’re with you wherever you go!
Still, you continue to share your talent with us!
    I hope get better soon!
Our summer has not felt like it has even started yet! I’ve had my snowbird parents visiting so we haven’t been out much - but we still have time before school starts and I intend to make some memories with the kids before that day in September!
    Have fun on that boat!

Love the boat Julia…we have one about the same size. Gets a good workout here in summer. My DH and son are big fishermen so they use it mostly. As a whole family we get out for a picnic day with friends a couple of times a year….here off the Gold Coast…a spot called Wave Break Island is perfect. Enjoy your new toy:-) Oh….lovin the Chrissy cards too….good to knock a few over early before the rush of Christmas sets in.

Love the photos from your trip! Summer fun! I’m sure you’re loving the boat!

We’ve had a busy summer, too — running through the sprinkler, eating ice cream, going to movies, swim and dive meets, soccer camp, a Disney Cruise — plus Chris and I spent a weekend in Michigan for a friend’s wedding! I’m actually looking forward to fall and slowing down a little… who am I kidding — there’s no slowing down with four kids!! :)

I hope you get relief from your sinus problems soon! I don’t know how you do it all — gorgeous paper creations every day, five kids, a busy schedule — there’s no time for sinus pain! Take care!

    Hi Julia,
I love visiting your blog, you have beautiful designs.
I don’t normally reply to these things but when you’d mentioned your sinuses, I had to … My husband suffers from sinus problems as well and has gone throught the CT scans and a million other test to be told that there isn’t anything wrong, it’s allergies. He was taking a ton of reactine and advil just to cope with the headaches. Someone had mentioned to him to try a Neti pot and he is now medication free and has pretty much wiped out his sinus problems. From time to time when pollen counts are high he still takes the odd reactine, but he swears by the Neti pot.
Just thought that this might help.
Neti pots are really inexpensive, it’s basically a saline solution to rinse out the sinuses, and a little odd to use at first, but you get used to it relatively quickly and if it helps, it’s worth it.
    Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Julia, I had to come back and comment on your darling Christmas card! Your stamping meshes perfectly with the Figgy Pudding paper. And you always use such great embellishments! TFS.

Hope you can get away from those awful sinus headaches. It’s hard to get anything done with a headache isn’t it?

Love your christmas card, pretty paper combo’s, maybe that would cool me down to do a christmas card. I have motion sickness so a boat is a no no for me, but glad your family is enjoying their summer, we just got back from Arkansas, went to the Ozark Folk center, they do demonstrations of their crafts and sell them, so you can imagine I brought home some goodies, we had a great time but it was HOT!!
Hope you can get some help with your headaches!

Love this card so folksy and warm.
My summer has been all work, praying for cancer patients and care givers and going to funerals. So this summer kind of sucks so far.
My son and I will go swimming with friends this weekend so hopefully it will cheer is mom up because, although they were his relatives too, he didn’t know them as well as I did, so he isn’t as affected.
