Metal Leafing Pens…a challenge

It’s Monday! Time for another challenge! This week the challenge is to use the fabulous Krylon Metal Leafing Pens. I hadn’t tried them until recently but I’m loving the quick rich look they add to a design. Never tried out these pens? I’ve written a product spotlight with lots of info here. Check out the great samples some of the designers have created this week! I hope you’ll be inspired to play along…challenge details here.

Vintage Christmas Wall-Hanging

I love decorating for Christmas and thought this little wall-hanging would be perfect for decorating my new kitchen this winter. I just adore this new Sandra Kuck Ready for Christmas image. I simply stamped it in black on Natural Smooth cardstock and then used some Distress ink and textured up the edges. Mixing it up with some other fun goodies… Figgy Pudding 6×6 paper, Prima Velvet diecuts, Autumn Leaves buttons, Creative Impressions ribbons and safety pin and my Maya Road chipboard snowflakes made it a super fun project to put together. As I wanted to tie it in with this challenge…who ever said snowflakes can’t be copper? I think the Krylon Copper Leafing Pen is one of my top favorites. I just love the richness of copper. These pens are a super fast and easy way to cover chipboard and check out the pic below…. the edges of my wall-hanging were very easily “spruced up” with it as well. This paint dries very quickly making it great for getting the project done.
