A Little Change of Pace
I’ve been designing mostly around summer lately…love all the flowers and blossoms around the garden. I think it provides so much inspiration. I decided to look ahead a little and design this autumn card. Aren’t these little kritters darling? They are so much fun to color. I love the change of pace of sitting down at the dining room table and just coloring. I’ll admit it…my stamp desk is just too cluttered with accessories to color any way!
If you like to get started on your Fall designing early these stamps are for you. Here’s a tip inspired my friend Kristine Reynolds. Kristine stamps images and then brings them along with her to color while she waits for her kids at various functions. I’ve decided to stamp a pile of images to take with me to color while I’m off at the cottage this summer. Some images, along with my Copic marker folders won’t take up much packing space but will still give me a creative outlet while there. And watch out…I’ll be whipping up those cards when I get home!
Bounty of the Season
This darling little image is called Gourd Friends and is one of two new Tom Allen Friendly Kritter releases at CHF today. I had lots of fun coloring it with my Copic Markers and pairing it up with some My Mind’s Eye patterned paper and some stitching. I hate throwing good rick rack away, so I used the little piece leftover from my rick rack flower to add texture and to create a little scalloped border to the top of my design.
Quick Tip: When coloring with your Copic markers…be sure to lay down lots of color….the ink should show through on the back of the paper. This helps your color spread easily.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a super weekend!
Julia

This is absolutely darling, Julia! The coloring is perfection! I hope to be adding some of these cute critters to my collection in the near future. I, also, like to stamp and color on the go. Sometimes I would find that lighting was not up to snuff. I purchased one of these

from Hobby Lobby (can you say coupon) and it is wonderful. Mine it actually has a little magnifying class attached by fortunately I do not need it (yet-lol.) I has a strong magnet on the bottom that I attach to the top of a thick 12 x 12 clipboard that I have for displaying scrapbook pages but a small clipboard would, I feel, work, also! Just my 2 cents for the day. Hope you have a super weekend!
