A Double Challenge…

After a couple crazy months, I was determined to find some time to play along with the Dirty Dozen/Alumni challenge this month. I’ve been wanting to create an inspiration journal for a while and this was a great push to just do it. The challenge also have a couple other parts…it had to be inspired by a photo layout in a magazine and could NOT use any form of markers. Being the multi-tasker that I am…the only way to keep up with this busy life! ;)….I also combined it with a Backgrounder Blitz challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms. Today’s Backgrounder challenge is partial stamping and I used my Lined Paper and French Script Backgrounders on this journal, inking only parts of the backgrounders so that they fade in and out. You may actually have a hard time finding them…the French Script backgrounder really blends in well with the patterned paper.

Create Beauty Journal

The inspiration part of the challenge comes in the form of the color combo and flowers on the table in the photograph. I just love that cool blue, caramel and white color scheme with touches of warm coral colors. I found this new Webster’s Pages paper in my new bag of goodies I picked up last jks-create-beauty-journal-c.jpgweekend and went to work. The journal is a chipboard album from 7 Gypsies. After adhering my patterned paper, I went to work making the paper my own by stamping it with some Rummage Bin stamps. The distressed frames from the new Photo Op set were stamped on opposite corners to add interest to the edges. If you look close you’ll also spy some “coffee cup stains” from the Ledger Me set.

The main sentiment panel is a mix of stamps and sets. The Do the Best you can, in the Time you are given stamp is something I’m always trying to remember. I don’t have unlimited time and have to try to get what I can done and not worry about the rest.

Wishing you a beautiful day! I’ll be back to edit in the supply list shortly!

Julia

That is such a beautiful journal, Julia (is there anything you create that isn’t? lol)! I really like that sentiment, your embellies, and the softness of those colors with just a touch of chocolate — pretty much perfection. ;)
