Acrylics…a challenge!
Until recently, I never really stopped to think about how many acrylic products there are now in the stamping and scrapbooking markets. I guess having to think up new Ways to Use it Challenges each week forces me to really look at what products are out there and stretch my mind for creative new challenges. After more than three years of weekly challenges…I think we’ve done almost every product out there at least once! I also try and keep the challenges fairly wide in nature so that as many people can play as possible. If you have ideas for future challenges…please feel free to e-mail me with them! If you could take the time to check our list in that SCS forum first to make sure we haven’t already done it…I’d most appreciate that. I’m also open to thinking of new spins on old challenges!
Now for today’s challenge…acrylics…there are so many ideas to use when you stop and think of it. How about…
-Dew Drops
-Making Memories acrylic frames and embellishments
-acrylic albums
-Tim Holtz Fragments
-clear buttons are acrylic
-acrylic paint
-I believe there is a great glossy acrylic spray for altered projects and pins
-acrylic blocks?
-acrylic coasters
-acrylic stamps
I’m sure I’ve missed some too! I hope you’ll join us today with a project that uses acrylics. The more the merrier! Check it out at …. WT162.
Celebrating You
For this design I started out with my Victorian Floral Backgrounder. I’m having so much fun pulling out all my Backgrounder stamps for the Backgrounder Blitz at Cornish Heritage Farms. The Blitz kicks off tomorrow night in the CHF forums and runs for a week of fun challenges and of course…we’re giving away backgrounders each day.:) Hope to see you there!
I also stamped my backgrounder directly onto my chipboard bird and sponged the edges. For the main panel of the design, I used one of my Making Memories journaling sheets torn right from the package. I just love the flourish border and the punched circles in the flowers. I decorated them with my acrylic Dew Drops using Ranger Glossy Accents to hold them on. The flourishes on the sides are from the Beautiful stamp set and are stamped in Tattered Rose.
Quick Tip: Ranger Glassy Accents is fabulous for adhering acrylic as well as other embellishments. Did you know that it dries in 5 seconds on paper? I love that!
I picked up these fabulous Tim Holtz Fragments last weekend at Scrapfest. You’re going to be seeing lots more of this product! I adhered a Prima Flower under the acrylic and stamped “celebrating you” directly on the piece with Black Stazon. If you love sentiments…this sentiment is from a new set just released today from CHF…Classic Essential Expressions Script. It coordinates perfectly with the Classic Essential Expressions set so you can mix and match. How cool is that?
Hope you have a fabulous day and can play along with the challenge!
