Celebration Time

Published by Julia Stainton at 2:32 am under Contests & Giveaways

Well…yesterday was my birthday and I’d like to celebrate.  Another year older and hopefully, another year wiser. :) I had planned on posting this last night but it just didn’t happen. Things got kind of crazy. The renovation doesn’t stop at this point as there is too much scheduled to take a night off. We were really busy grouting the tile until 11:30 before we called it a night. Sad thing is….we’re only half done so that will be tonight as well. But enough rambling. ;) I’d like to celebrate with you today by sharing some goodies with you. :) You have until Thursday April 10th at 10 pm EST to comment on this thread to be entered to win. What to ask me a question…now’s a perfect time. Winner will be randomly chosen by an on-line number generator and will be announced Friday morning.

So what am I sharing? Some of my favorite things! :)

jks-birthday-gifts.jpg

- package of 5×5″ Daisy D’s swatch papers

- one package of Prima flowers - Martini collection

-8 white embossed cards with envelopes

-a great misc. sampling from all my favorite Maya Road embellishments

Good luck!

Julia

i hear it’s bad to be first *L* first never wins

that’s ok, though…i have two questions–how’d you choose the name for your blog AND have you ever won an amazing blog candy?

  2. Bunnyon 08 Apr 2008 at 2:57 pm

Happy (belated) Birthday! Sounds like you had loads of fun yesterday! Can you show us your fave birthday card you got this year? :)

  3. Lorion 08 Apr 2008 at 2:57 pm

Do you find it tedious or time consuming to stitch on your cards? I guess what I’m asking is do you have your sewing machine ready and waiting all of the time? One more ? - do you think stitching on your cards is just a fad for now and will sort of fade away? I truly like your blog! It’s very informative and of course filled with great eye candy. Thanks for making my day brighter!

Happy Belated Birthday! As long as you were working together, I say that is what is best for any day. Hmmm. I always have lots of questions but will just ask one. Have you a favorite style or technique that you always seem to go back to and feel most comfortable with, or do you prefer something new as often as possible? I love your blog and have learned a lot from you! Thanks for sharing your talents!

Happy Birthday, Julia! I hope you were able celebrate while grouting. LOL!

I’d like to know how long you’ve been stamping, and what got you started. Did you start by attending a SU workshop like most of us?

    Take care - Regina

Happy Birthday, Julia! I hope your year is filled with fun and special moments.

I enjoy visiting your blog each and every day. Your directions are so clear and easy to understand. I celebrate with you each time another kitchen project is completed! I can’t wait to see the final results.

My question: HOW in the world do you manage to find time to stamp every day? Clearly, you are far more organized than I!

Happy birthday! Okay, my question is about sewing on your card too. . .do you backstitch to hold the thread in place or just leave it? It seems a little messy to backstitch, but when I just leave it, the thread pulls out. Help!

  18. Paula Kayon 08 Apr 2008 at 4:02 pm

First off “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” Next….I want your renovation to be complete so I can see the finished product and you have you stamping space the way you want it.
I am sure it will be worth the wait but……..the magic genie just needs to come and wave her magic wand so it is done.

    Many Happy Belated Birthday Wishes!
I am amazed at all you do within the stamping world, while being a wife and mother. What is you secret to be so organized? How much time do you spend on your blog and others in a day? And how many hours do you slepp? LOL

I just finished cutting out butterflies from the inked glossy cs and they ae goregous! I know we have spurts in all of our goodies but wish they would bring out a few more colors in the alcohol inks! Again, happy birthday!

  41. twinkson 08 Apr 2008 at 5:05 pm

Belated birthday wishes t you! TFS yourself with us all. I enjoy your blog ans feel that your artwork is amazing. Do you feel that your tastes/style is evolving and changing as you have the opportunity to experiment with more “new” things and techniques or do you always come home to what is you? KWIM?

  43. Michelleon 08 Apr 2008 at 5:09 pm

Happy Birthday!!!!! You don’t look a day over fast cars and freedom! :)
How much time does an average card you create take from start to finish???

  44. Wendyon 08 Apr 2008 at 5:16 pm

Happy Birthday Julia. It’s funny how birthdays go. The ones you spend doing something out of the ordinary, like grouting tile, will be the ones that stand out in your memory. As long as birthdays are spent healthy, happy, and with those we love, I don’t think it really matters what we are doing. Okay, here’s my question, when you start a card or project, do you have it all worked out ahead of time, or does it some together as you go?

    Many happy returns, Wendy Gorton

  45. Karen Wallaceon 08 Apr 2008 at 5:21 pm

Happy birthday, and wishes for much happiness in your “new” home! After living through my own renovation I know you will be thrilled, but it is close to torture, waiting for everything to be done. You will love it, though!
My question for you is how do you approach a card- starting with the image then paper and colors, or do you start with paper and then choose the stamps? Or maybe both?
    Thanks for all the inspiration!

    Julia,
How do you find the time to get everything done in the day? I see your beautiful creations on an almost daily basis…I NEVER have time to stamp!
Another quickie if you don’t mind….how do you store mini rolls of ribbon?

thank you much for the chance to win some great blog candy!! I love coming here for inspiration and eye candy every day!
    hugs,
    Elaine

I’m hoping it will be fixed soon but please know…I am aware of it and I haven’t deleted the blog list…I can’t wait until its back up again. Oh…and one more thing to add…just a quick reminder. If you haven’t entered my birthday celebration giveaway…you have until 10 pm EST Thursday the 10th (that’s tonight) to do so here. […]
