With Sympathy…
Sympathy cards are ones that I find very difficult to make. I always seem to be at a loss on where to begin. How can you convey how you feel?…simply…you can’t. This is a card design I made a few weeks ago for a good friend of mine. She lost a precious pet that was very dear to her. I decided to just make a very pretty card design and attach the purple velvet bow with a little dog bone clip.
This design uses the Silhouette Blooms 1 stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms. I know you’ve seen me use it a lot but really…I just love it so much, I just can’t stop! I over-stamped the silhouettes with my Spanish Script Backgrounder and added the sentiment and some sponging on the edges. This is one design where I didn’t use any patterned paper. I created my own with the Pretty Pattern Backgrounder. After adding a little stiching, I turned up the image edges and added a couple brads by Creative Impressions. The dog bone clip and some May Arts velvet ribbon finish it off.
Wishing you a very happy Monday! It’s a short week so I’m off to get things done!

I was looking away when the page loaded and when I looked back there it was…and it absolutely took my breath away! Gorgeous!! Everything about it is perfect…wow I just love this!
This is beautiful, Julia.
Beautiful card!
This is so elegant & then with the bone clip it just adds that special touch. Very nicely done
Awesome stamping all around, Beautiful!
Lovely! It is very difficult to find the right words for a sympathy card. I certainly find that. I think what’s more meaningful is the symbolic act of caring and empathy that the card represents. That is really what touches people so I try not to worry about finding the perfect phrasing. Everyone’s different in what they need to hear in times of difficulty anyway. I’m sure this card will mean a lot to your friend in her sadness.
This is so sweet, J. I love the touch of the bone clip.
Very pretty! I love the purple velvet, colors, just gorgeous!
Just beautiful! I had to make a very hard card yesterday. I want to make these ahead of time so I don’t have to make them when my heart is heavy. I will definitely be casing this lovely creation!
Love it!
How lovely!
{{{ J }}} it’s beautiful, and I love the bone clip!
My sweet dog died the day before you posted this lovely card. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed. It still doesn’t take much to set me off, but your card and the timing made it all the more special to see, even if it wasn’t made for me.
Thanks for sharing your work.
