Simply Saturday…Cards Scrappy Style

It’s simply Saturday again. This weekend I have some simple scrappy style cards to share with you. These cards are both designs using sketch layouts from the CardMaker’s Sketch Book. I love these sketches! So fun and easy to use. I originally created these designs for a review on Craft Critique but wanted to share them here as well, along with the supply lists.

My good news for the day! Wohoo! I just found my recharger 5 minutes ago! Yippee! I’ll be able to take some photos now and have something new to share with you soon! I’m feeling good today! Last night we had a fabulous time out. Nothing like a 3 hour dinner at the Keg with good friends. 🙂 As a renovation update…today it is actually warm enough that the snow has melted off the roof. My guys are busy putting in the kitchen skylight and doing some re-shingling of the roof. Can’t wait! I’ve really needed some positive news after being told Monday I’d be without a kitchen for another 4 weeks!

Flourished Thanks

This first card uses a4.25 x 5.5″ card layout. I paired up this new Making Memories die cute paper with some dotted MME paper for a fun look. The swirls are clear flourishes from Maya Road. I sponged the back of them with White Opaque Stazon ink to help define them. The thanks sentiment stamped in Black Stazon ink is from the Silhouette Blooms 2 stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms. Some Prima flowers set with American Crafts eyelets finish off the design.

Carpe Diem

I’ve been having fun lately combining fun prints from different lines and companies for a bright funky look. This design uses a layout from the 5.5 x 5.5″ square card designs. Patterned paper is from My Mind’s Eye and Autumn Leaves. The big chunky floral button is a Buck Naked Chipboard button from Cosmo Cricket. The quick rub-on transfer sentiment carpe diem (seize the day in Latin) is from Royal and Langnickel and I added a tiny rhinestone sticker on it to dot the i. As for the rest of the embellishments…some Robin’s Nest Dew Drops accent the shape and the fun embroidered ribbon comes from Making Memories.

Quick Tip: Using a black cardstock base with bright colors really makes them pop!

I hope this inspires you today to have a little scrappy card fun. If it does…feel free to link your design in the comments section below. I’d love to come and take a peek!

Have a simply wonderful Saturday,
