Cosmo Baby…
This is a sweet little baby design I created a few weeks ago. I just adore Cosmo Cricket paper and paired up the beautiful Little Girls line with the darling stork image from Gina K’s How Sweet It Is Stamps for a Cause set. This design was created from a sketch by Tami Mayberry in the CardMaker’s Sketch Book. I love the sketches in this book and wrote a review on it for Craft Critique a few weeks ago. The sketch I used is from the 5.5 x 8″ size which is a large size I don’t usually work with. This card is quite large but the proportions of the sketch are so similar to the standard 4.25 x 5.5 card size that most of us use that it would be so simple to use the sketch for the smaller scale.
Sweet Floral Baby
For this design I simply followed the sketch and paired up some of the gorgeous Cosmo Cricket patterned paper. A little sponging and stitching adds to the shabby chic look which I love for a baby girl. To create the central image, I simply stamped the stork onto a journaling block that was included in the kit. The image was stamped on various patterned papers as well and then cut out and paper pieced onto the main image. The flower button chipboard accent is from the Cosmo Cricket Buck Naked Buttons set and is tied with some soft velvet ribbon. I’m just loving these darling little safety pins by Creative Impressions. So quick and fun to pin to some ribbon and add to that baby look. The large antique bronze brad is also from Creative Impressions. I think it is my new favorite stand-by.
Just to let you know…Creative Impressions had updated their site with a brand new format. I was thrilled to be able to give it a test drive for them a couple weeks ago and it is super easy to use.
I’m off to work on a design for a new release from The Rummage Bin line and other various pending assignments. Wish me luck as it is March Break here and I have all the kids home this week!
Also…a reno update as some of you seemed to want to know…the kitchen floor is coming along. The concrete guy was here Saturday from 8 am to 9 pm. Unfortunately after he left DH discovered that the floor was almost an inch higher in the middle. He had to spend a lot of yesterday jack-hammering off a layer of concrete before it cured too much to bring it down to level. So frustrating! The joys of renovating!
Wishing you a very sweet day!
