Simply Saturday….Warm Heart
Stamping scrappy-style is a great way to make quick fun cards. I know how life seems to be moving at a faster and faster pace each day and often don’t have the time for labor intensive designs. I know there must be plenty of you that feel the same way. Don’t put off creativity and your hobby because you think every design must be a masterpiece. That is just not true. I love a simple card that works and often just a few quick touches will make your design special. I know many people spend hours looking at magazines and browsing galleries and then say they have no time to stamp. I have a few tips…
- don’t stress
- keep it simple
- try to have a desk, room, corner that you can leave things out…much easier that way
- make it part of your daily routine
- just DO IT!
I also just want to take this time to say…thanks sooo much for all the sweet comments yesterday…and every day for that matter…you all truly warm my heart! ![]()
You Warm My Heart
This is a quick fun masculine design for my hubby. On these cold days I thought it would be kind of appropriate…it’s way too cold for March here! To create the textured background, I simply ran the striped patterned paper through my Cuttlebug with my embossing folder. Sand the raised surface lightly to let the white inner core shine through. Don’t be afraid to use packaged die cuts that coordinate with the paper as well. The tag and heart made it super quick to put a layout together with some simple black stamping. This design was part of a review on My Mind’s Eye patterned paper that I wrote for Craft Critique. If you missed it…you can check it out here.
Wishing you a fabulous Saturday! Don’t forget to get off the computer and get stamping!

You hit the nail on the head! I love browsing everyones’s blogs and getting ideas from them, but then next thing I know I have been on the computer for 2 hours! I at least finally carved a section out of the basement last fall, and so if I even have a few minutes, I can go “play”- the best thing I EVER did! It is my stmping dungeon, but I love it!
THanks for reminding us of the simple things! Off to play!

Great card! And your tips are perfect! I already follow that. I have a very small space but do have everything there. And doing something everyday was my “agreement” with myself. That may be just cleaning up or looking for ideas.
Great words of advice, I need to take them! That is exactly my problem. Love the stripes thru the CB!
thanks
Bautiful examples Julia, love what you do with the CHF stamps. :0)
very cute, J love the CB background!
I have found that I spend more time on the computer than I do stamping anymore and it is sad, but if I see someone’s work that is lovely I just have to comment because I so Love to look at all these lovely works of art, Love your embossing on the pp, great masculine card!
What a cute image and sentiment! I like the staples and the screw brad!
