Sunny Days…

Published by Julia Stainton at 6:40 pm under Card Designs, Cornish Heritage Farms

Sunny days…how I’m wishing for some today! I don’t mind it a little cold with lots of fluffy white snow this time of year but today…a steady rain all day long has washed it all away! This design is really out of my usual color choices…fun and bold with yellow and orange. Actually I was inspired by that teeny tiny orange and yellow tag on the design. Funny thing how a little embellishment can inspire an entire design. I love those Making Memories chipboard/epoxy “sweets” and those dots had me thinking of my new dotted backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. I just had to photograph it with my sunglasses in the pic for a little fun.

Wishing You Sunny Days

To create my design, it is really just simple basic stamping using two background stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms….Large Polka Dots and Lined Paper. That Lined Paper stamp especially is right up there at the top of my faves list right now. :) The Lined paper stamp is stamped onto a sheet of acetate with my White Stazon ink.

Quick Tip: Stamping things on an angle can make them more visually appealing and shake up a very traditional, simple layout. When stamping on an angle..decide first how much of an angle will look good. Too little of an angle will look like a mistake and too large of one may look more like a diagonal.

I love this Wishing you Sunny Days sentiment…so appropriate for a lot of occasions. The edges of the circle were sponged with So Saffron ink and then layered onto a scalloped circle. I couldn’t resist working another of these Fancy Pants pins into my design again. I’m totally addicted to these little pins! Isn’t that little heart cute?

Wishing you a wonderful day!

PS Did you see my new Yahoo Avatar…I’m stuffing stockings in front of….a REALLY large Christmas card…how fun is that? ;)
