Simply Saturday … a no layers design…
Simple Cards don’t get much simpler to put together than with no layers. Actually, those of you who have actually tried them know that it can be very deceptively simple. It takes a little work to get them to look great without layers. Sometimes simple just is not that simple to do.
I decided to try out a simple design with this new stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps. I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on this three step daisy set.
Floral Memories Design
This three step daisy is so quick and easy to use. Love the depth of the colors you can achieve and the color combos are endless. Pick three ink colors that coordinate, the first being the lightest and then the last being the darkest. The leaves for this set are two step as are the smallest flowers. You can actually use these in one step if you wish.
This design was quickly stamped on the one layer of a whisper White 4.25″ square card base. After adding the sentiment and a little sponging around the edges, I added a little freestyle stitching around the edges to act as a frame. This design was part of a Craft Critique review on Kitchen Sink Stamps last week.
Quick Tip: If you don’t have three coordinating colors of ink, use the stamping off method. For the first large impression, ink the largest daisy, stamp off onto scrap paper twice and then stamp your impression. For the second daisy, ink it up, then stamp off once onto scrap paper and then stamp on top of the first daisy. The third impression is easy using the top detail daisy stamp…just ink it up and stamp on top of the other impressions. This way, you only need one color of ink and it is perfectly monochromatic.
Wishing you a fabulous weekend! Coming later on today… the girls and I have gotten “together” again for another Take Two challenge. Should be fun! Can’t wait to see the other designs! I just know they are going to be … oh so sweet! ![]()
