How Sweet

Yay!!! I’m back! I missed you my friends!

Yikes! That was four days too many without internet and e-mail service at home. Running out every morning and not being able to use my files, just was not a good thing! LOL I did manage to get caught up on some assignments and write-ups though so I put my time to good use. It is always a bit of a scramble after a long weekend too! I have to wait until morning to photograph a couple of the designs I’ve been working on so I’ll share one I made a few weeks ago and am just getting time to upload now.

Thanks so much to so many of you who have shared their recipes with me! They all look awesome and I can’t wait to try them! If you want to take a peek, scroll down to the previous post and you’ll find them in the comments as well as links to some others that have been posted on blogs. I have a few more slow cooker recipes I just remembered about today and I’ll try and post them in the upcoming week too. ๐Ÿ™‚ And so, with all this talk of food, how about a sweet little card?

How Sweet

This is a clean simple design. I used the sundae image from the new How Sweet stamp set by My Favorite Things. I thought the more ice cream the better and stamped it three times. LOL It seems as if there were quite a few of us who had the same idea! ๐Ÿ™‚ I watercolored in my image with my SU inks and then added some glaze to the design with my Sakura Gelly Roll Clear Glaze pen on top of the cherries and the sundae dishes.

The image panel is tied with some darling May Arts ribbon and I added a fun little Heidi Swapp photo corner to the top left corner. The main card base is whisper white overlaid with some gorgeous pink Sassafrass Lass patterned paper. Quick, easy and fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

A Few Recipes…

Since I can’t upload anything onto this computer I’m using at an office to checkย my e-mail, I thought I’d share some great easy recipes with you that I love to use. They are slowcooker recipes and what got me thinking about this is my upcoming kitchen renovation. It is NOT going to be fun.

Right now construction is in full swing. DH has dug a new basement addition and had dug out the crawl space under the kitchen. Century old houses are always a lot of work. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have a lot of dust and the house is freezing but at least the kitchen is intact…for now. Once we start on that, I’m not goign to be able to cook with my range. I was trying to think up how I’m goign to feed 7 people without it. Hmmmm…. The slow cooker and my BBQ will be a life saver. I have a couple favorite Slow cooker recipes that are SO easy, I thought you might enjoy trying them out too. And with this entry, I’d like to ask for your help as well. ๐Ÿ™‚ Do you have any good slow-cooker recipes or recipes for those new roasting ovens? I have one of those as well. If you’d care to share one, I’d love to try it out. Post it to your blog and link back to this entry, post in a comment on this entry, e-mail it to me…whatever. If a few kind people wish to share, it would really help me out and also, I’m sure others as well, would love to see your recipes. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are my quick and easy ones….

BBQ Pork

one boneless pork loin roast

1/2 cup BBQ sauce

Place roast in slow cooker. Pour BBQ sauce over top. Cook on low for 5-6 hours. Shread pork with forks and serve on buns.

Taco Chicken

4 boneless chicken breasts

1 package of taco seasoning

Place chicken breasts in slow cooker. Sprinkle with taco mix. Cook for4-6 hours on low. Shread meat and serve in tortillas with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and taco sauce.

๐Ÿ™‚ Told you they were easy! But they are great family friendly recipes. More time to stamp! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And I’m sincerely hoping my new wireless modem will arrive today so I can actually post some new designs! I’m trying to hang in there….
