Simply Saturday, World Cardmaking Day! and a little something for you…
It’s here! World Cardmaking Day! And there are lots of cool things going on so many places today. Make sure you take some time out to have some fun! Check out the web-site for some great card ideas or things you can do. There is even a gallery to share your work on. So go ahead…don’t be shy!
I’m hoping to work on a few designs I have in the works for upcoming projects and I’m also off to Apple Land this morning with the kids. Apples and squash to get ready for Thanksgiving on Monday.
The renovation here is also in full swing and yikes! What a mess! This is a HUGE job. My hubby is the best to take this on!
In keeping with my Simply Saturday theme, I thought I’d share this Boho Blossoms design with you.
Boho Friendship
As you know, I just adore this Boho Blossoms stamp set. What a gorgeous flower! I decided to keep my design simple and monochromatic to highlight its beauty. The flower was stamped three times in versamark in and then embossed with black Stampendous embossing powder. Wow! It is gorgeous in person. I also quickly stamped the friendship script sentiment onto the panel and that was it.
After adhering my panel to the card front, I pulled out my Making Memories textured tape. I tell you, I have gotten a LOT of mileage from this one little package of tape…..absolutely love it! I applied one strip of dotted tape above the stamped panel and one strip of the white paisley tape below for a quick, fun design. I decided to echo the dotted shapes of the top to the bottom of the design and added a row of paper piercing just below the tape. You can see how the light shines through the holes a little in the pic.
For my quick finishing touch, another one of my new favorite goodies, Making Memories Sweets. They are epoxy covered chipboard and are oh so cute! I tied mine with black gingham ribbon from Michael’s and adhered it to the design with a glue dot. Simple, simple, simple. But so much fun!
And now for some more fun… a little something to help you celebrate today…
Do you like My Favorite Things Stamps? Kim has just released five great new sets this past week and I have one of them to share with you. It’s a Jungle out There is a darling new set…I can’t believe all the possibilities you can create out of it…all the Design Team samples were stunning! If you are intersted in a chance to win this set…leave a comment below. I’d love to hear your favorite technique or feature on your designs right now.
Or tell me how you are celebrating World Cardmaking Day! Can’t wait to hear from you! Have fun!

Oh….the rest of the details
…You have until Monday October 8th at 10 pm EST to leave a comment to be eligible to win. Tne winner will be chosen at random and will be announced Tuesday morning. Please, one comment per person! Have a great weekend!

My favourite technique is sponging. I do it all the time, and this set would lend itself very well to that!
I’m celebrating the day by having friends over for brunch (actually in celebration of Canadian Thanksgiving!)
barb
I’m celebrating my day by taking my 13 almost 14 yr. old daughter shopping, we’re making the rounds, Archiver’s all the craft stores etc. And then based on what we purchase we will be card making all night long.
Happy WCD! Hope your day is as special as you are making for your readers. Count me in on this special sweet giveaway. Love your card. My technique right now is piercing on the card. I’m hoping to have FUN today somewhere and if not, I will find time to have FUN in my stamping room. Thanks for a chance at this sweet stamp set.
cmeyers@hughes.net
I’m going to participate in the monthly card challenge held by my Bella group. I’ve also been treating myself to some new supplies.
ENJOY!
I love to rough up the edges of my cardstock with my distresser tool. Just adds some interesting texture
Great card, Julia! I love this stamp set!
Great giveaway! I think this is my favorite MFT stamp set. I seem to be using my corner rounder to make scalloped borders quite often lately. That and paper piercing. I’ve also been playing around a bit with alcohol inks.
Hi Julia! My fav technique seems to be layering…maybe I will give Faith (Markie’s Mom) a run for her money…ha!
I’m celebrating today by stamping. My hubby is away for the weekend so I’m taking advantage of the time to clean up my stamping area and then mess it up again with some stamping! As for my favorite technique right now - paper piercing. I love the added touch it gives to cards. Thanks for the chance to win some sweet blog candy - I love this MFT set.
I love this darling set. I am spending the day taking my 16 yr. old daughter dress shopping. I’m hoping for a sweet time searching for something beautiful. I’m also hoping to be rewarded for my efforts by finding a little time this afternoon for a card or two. Right now, my favorite technique is utilizing my cuttlebug to add texture to my cards. I love this tool. Happy Thanksgiving!
This is a gorgeous card, Julia! Hmm…let’s see…my favorite thing right now is sewing on cards! So cute!
Hello!
Well as for my favorite thing right now, I don’t know if I have one. I have been using a lot of my SU! punches lately. Does that count?
For world card making day I am having a bunch of girlfriends over for the afternoon for a card class. The class fee will be going to the Stollery Children’s Hospital, here in Edmonton. I chose to send them there because they have just been wonderful to my sister and brother in law in the last little while. They have a precious little girl that has been in and out of there her whole six months of life, and they have made it a tolerable, not a traumatic time for them. I just want them to be able to keep doing what they are doing for other special kids out there just like my neice.
This is a super cute set!!!
My Constant thing for cards is Stardust Stickles, but I really like to sponge my edges too.
Love what you are doing with the Boho Blossoms Set…Gorgeous!
Aaaaack!! I LOVE this new set!!! They are ALL so cute but this one is my fave!! Of course, I can’t live without ribbon on all my cards and I’m spending today stampin’ up a storm!!! Well, hopefully!!! Happy Thanksgiving, Julia!!
Great set! Love the MFT sets! Recently I’ve discovered the joy of doing things asymmetrically. I’m the kind of person that likes things symmetrical and lined up and squared. I was inspired by a card that Trudee made recently where she rounded opposite corners of the main image…I’ve been trying to get out of my “must be perfect and symmetrical box” and it’s so much fun! Silly huh? Unfortunately I’m not doing anything special for WCM day…I’ve got to much non-stamping things to do today.
thanks,
Shawn K.
Cute set!
My dd would love it! My fave technique is probably stitching, along with Prismacolors & Gamsol. I do them on almost every card.. addicted!
I think i’m going to head out shopping today with my kidlets..
Nothing overly exciting.. hopefully get in some scrap time later on!
Thanks!
For WCM Day, I am going to stamp! Wahoo. I don’t get to stamp as often as I would like, so I am going to carve out some time today to do that!! One of my favorite techniques that I am ADDICTED to right now is using an ink pad to distress the edge of everything!
Thanks,
Angie
Oh I bought You take the Cake recently and I love it! It has been so much fun to play with. Love the new sets they introduced. Today, hopefully, I will get started on holiday cards. I’ve been seeing so many beautiful cards and it’s starting to stress me out!
I hope to make some extras for Cards for the Troops.
It’s such a beautiful day though — 80s today — maybe get outside for a bit too! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Oh Julia, that stamp set is awesome! I have a 4 y/o DS and have LOTS of zoo pictures to scrap. This set would be just perfect! We also call our son “Monkey-Boy” so that monkey would get used a lot! LOL!
As for Cardmaking Day, I’m just spending time with my family. I think we are going to go visit an Octoberfest a little later. Hopefully, my throat starts feeling better soon! I got everyone past their colds, so I guess it is my turn. *sigh*
I love your card! Black and white together are just so elegant! You did a terrific job!
Hello,
I’m celebrating world card making day by cooking a thanksgiving dinner and cleaning my house LOL. I doubt I’ll have any time to stamp today, but you never know. Lately I’ve been making cards with two step stamping for a fun change of pace.
Cindy
What a cute set!! I guess my favorite thing right now is using my sewing machine on my cards. Lately they just don’t seem finished unless they have stitching! What makes it even better is that I am finally learning to work with my machine!!! We haven’t had a good relationship over the years but I think we may be working it out!!!!
You’re a great inspiration…thanks!
I am so in love with this set. Today we are traveling to see familt for Thnsgiving. Leaving in about an hour so no cards for me today. I am loving destressing my cards laterly. thanks for the chance and Happy Thanksgiving!
I love this new MFT set! I’m celebrating WCMD by sneaking away to make some Christmas cards. Thanks for the chance at this set!
My current fave technique is sewing on cards! I’m making cards today for an order and hope to stamp for fun later! Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the chance at the bons bons!
Love this set and love the fact that they have a day set aside for card makers! I’m going to finish grading some papers (after I finish my daily blurfing) and then sit down and create for the rest of the day. I’m going to have to finish up some swaps that I am a bit behind on (but they aren’t late!)
this new MFT set is so cute. i love the prismacolor/gamsol technique/and watercoloring. spending a portion of the day to make some cards for my card ministry. such great ideas/inspiration in the gallery. thank you
I’m going to my LSS to join in the fun for World Card Making Day. Then when I get home I have 2 cards here to finish. My favorite techinque is coloring with prismacolor and gamsol. But watercoloring is up there too!
Awesome card Julia! I love the monochromatic scheme - it’s stunning!
And a chance to win some bon-bons? I’m in! I’d love to win the MFT sets!
I’ve been doing lots of simple stamping lately - no extensive coloring or techniques, just stamps, ink, patterned paper and a few embellishments!
T
Right now I love my slit punch. I like to use it near an edge, punch a circle in the middle and tie ribbon through it or use it to make the scalloped borders. Great giveaway as usual! All five of those new MFT releases are fun!
How wonderful! I am loving MFT! What creative ideas. Thank you for offering such a wonderful set. You site is so inspirational. It is always a treat to see what you have up your sleave each day. Happy Early Thanksgiving to you and yours.
My favorite technique lately seems to be sponging. It seems like every card I do needs to have sponging somewhere. lol
I just really love your cards Julia!! This is
a cute stamp set ! Thanks for the chance to win!
Well, I think I’ll work on refining my design for my Xmas cards and hopefully even get some done!
NancyS (momsnack)
I don’t really have a favourite technique, other than fast and simple. If it doesn’t involve a lot of colouring, then I love it! I will have to try and think of a design for my Christmas cards this year!
I enjoy taking my time with my cards. Picking out the items, stamps, accessories…the whole process is enjoyable! My fav techniques are the newest I’ve learned! So that means this week its doing gel transfers!
Happy WCMD!
I just love black and white cards! They are so elegant…and you don’t have to match colors! I have been making a bunch of cards for various birthdays and events. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!
What fun! I absolutely LOVE this set. It’s a hot one here in Ohio and we’re taking it easy all day as we have a football game to go to at 5:30. I did stop at my local Archiver’s to celebrate Card Making Day. I spent a pretty penny, let me tell you. I want this set soooooo bad so I hope that some good luck will be leaning my direction. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to keep my fingers crossed too. Thanks for the opportunity to win this set.
Oh and lately I’ve been adding ribbon to nearly every card. I just love it so much!
Chris
This is such a great set!
but when I get a spare moment, I’ve been practicing tying ribbons since I’ve gotten awesome tips and tutorials- I really, really love Kristina’s! http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/2007/09/video-tying-a-knot-in-ribbon.html
I’ve had zero time for stamping lately
To celebrate WCMD, I’m… writing two papers for school. Ugh. I’ll celebrate a week or so late!
And I may treat myself to some Bellas as a reward for my hard work. Just cuz it’s WCMD, of course!
You’re so nice to offer this up! I am participating in an all day crop event for WCMD - we’ll make cards and donate to some of the senior citizen facilities and organizations in the area.
Favorite Technique would be layering or using embelli’s…I can’t do plain cards right now — there are too many fun things to add on!
I know I won your last Bon Bon, but I like this set…. especially that cute little monkey and would love to have it to make cards for my godson who LOVES monkeys. Right now it seems like I am paper piercing or distressing most of my projects. heehee
Hello! That stamp set is FABULOUS!! I am celebrating by visiting lot of blogs and getting inspiration!!! I’m also dabbling in a few challenges too. I’d love to be as good of a card maker as I am a scrapbooker, so I need some help!! Thanks!
I really like the Boho Blossoms set……and your card is just beautiful! I think I will be placing an order for several of their sets!
Lately I have been using my CB quite a bit……plus paper piercing.
I’ve been checking out that Boho Blossoms set. Love all the cards I’ve seen you use it on.
I’m not sure what my favourite technique would be right now. But I do love using ribbon and brads on my cards these days.
Thanks for offering another chance to win a great set.
Happy Thanksgiving.
PS - Just bought my Paper Crafts mag and can’t wait to get into it and find your designs.
This card is just darling Julia! Love the black and white!
Happy Cardmaking Day!! I’ve already been to my demos and made some cards for the troops…and a few for me too….My fave technique is adding ribbon to everything (: A little ribbon never hurt anything or anybody.
My favorite of late has been using silk (or paper) flowers for embelishments. I also love to add glitter. This set is really cute! Would make great “man” cards. Also love your black and white Boho card. This might be a set I “need” lol
I went to a Stamp Club, where we made cards to be donated to the local Ronald McDonald house..
I really love the different ribbons and paper piercing you have done on your cards..I’m trying to do more of it, too.
I’ve been into scallops lately, just like everyone else! And paper-piercing. I love doing that! I really enjoy your blog - thanks!
Gorgeous card, Julia! This is my first time on your blog and I’m impressed…
I just love that cute set! I spent World cardmaking day at a craft fair! I did pretty well, too.
Thanks for all the beauty.
Becky
My favorite technique these days seems to be distressing and paper piecing.
Love your Boho card….I always think black and white is so striking…and it certainly is in this case!
You have a great blog. The technique I love most is no technique, lol. I just let it happen and see what I get.
Claudia
Hi Julia,
Another beautifully elegant card! Thank you so much for your inspiration. I’m really into paper piecing right now. I think it’s giving me some justfication for all the paper I own!! Thank you for sharing!
My favorite technique is using the brayer with Versamark & glossy CS, inking the brayer & going over the image till it shows through the color. I luv it!!! I just learned that, so now I have to buy the brayer. Thanks for the chance to win a great stamp set!
Love the new jungle themed set you pictured in your blog….gets a 10 on the cute-scale.
My favorite technique now is dry embossing….and to celebrate WCMD I started the day my organizing my scrap/stamp room…quickly growing out of control….LOL Anyway I am hoping to find the top of my desk in time to get out a card or two before the end of the evening….
Would love to win this set! I’m celebrating WCMD by making a few cards & entering a few contests! It’s still “too” hot here to do anything else!! LOVE your blog!
ALCOHOL INKS! Love them. I just play with colours and then something happens and I’m off. The colours are magical. They sing out to me.
I spent today at a family fun festival selling my wares which includes hand stamped cards, bookmarks, pins, silk floral wreaths and centerpieces, cinnamon baskets, etc. Had a great day and maybe I can get some cards done tonight. Anyway, at the present time I am enjoying using GLITTER in different colors on one card. I am using the small vials of glitter by Art Institute and using a glue pen. In fact, I haven’t found a technique that I didn’t like! Would love to win these stamps. Happy weekend Julie!
Eleanor
Your card is absolutely beautiful. I love how stunning black and white looks together.
Happy Card making day!! I spent the day doing laundry thinking about card making!!!! Hopefully will get some done with all the WCM sketches I find!! Thanks for the chance to win the set!!
Paper piercing
Love your Boho Blossoms card and your blog, Julia! You look just like a friend of mine from my teen years. Bless~
Love that set! I think my favorite technique that I keep going back to is paper piercing.. I’ve also grown to love embossing.
Love your cards, they are just gorgeous….. Thanks for sharing!
Awwww!! What an adorable set! : ) Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stamp a thing today…sigh! I am a soccer mom and spent the whole day on the field! If I would have had a few spare moments though I would have taken my new rubber brayer out for an inky test drive! Hoping to do just that tomorrow!! Fingers crossed! Thanks for always sharing so much inspiration!! I really enjoy your site! : ) Have a great night!
AnnMarie : )
Wow, love the card! My favorite techniques right now are paper piecing and embossing. Still haven’t been able to make a single card for World Cardmaking Day, but still hope to after the kiddies all go to bed. Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas!
Beautiful card, you can never go wrong with black and white! I spent the day getting my car repaired and did not get to do any stamping, sniff-sniff. It does cheer me up to know I get a chance to win a cool stamp set, though! I think my fav technique right now is dry embossing. It’s something I had not done in a while and now I can’t seem to put the stylus down! I love your blog- keep up the good work!
Gorgeous card, Julia! That’s such a pretty set. I haven’t done anything too out of the ordinary for World Cardmaking Day, but I did get a card made for today’s SCS Inspiration Challenge. After my little guy goes to bed, though, I’m going to make at least one more to get out in the mail to my DSS on Monday. Happy WCD to you!
Great giveaway!! I love to watercolor but all the samples I see using the Copic markers is making me want them now!! lol! Keep up the great work and I love to read your blog everyday!! =)
Hi Julia! This set is so cute! Thank you so much for a chance to win!
My favorite technique (s) lately are gamsol and I just love paper piercing, it adds so much!
For wcmd I spent making cards to enter into contests! I had a great time!
I just used my first digi kit to make a card as part of WCMD. I got the kit for free from the PaperCrafts site. I missed my stamps but it was fun to try something new.
My favorite technique right now is sponging. I decorated a photo mat to put our vacation pics in and LOVED it! Thanks for the chance to win some awesome candy!
Nice card!
My favorite right now is using prisma with gamsol.
I made a couple of cards for challenges for an online WCMD celebration! Now I’m just catching up on blogs…when I should be getting to bed.
Happy WCMD to you!
I love to distress everything. My Chocolate ink seems to end up on almost everything I make. I spent the day with friends at a stamping party. We made a fall card and I learn alot of fun and fabulous new ideas!!
I’m crazy about that stamp set! Hope you had a fun WCMD. I plan to get some card creating in tomorrow because I had commitments today and didn’t get anything done.
I have to say that I just love to dry emboss….
reflections:0)
I went up the freeway a bit and played at the stamp store in Fowlerville-and spent money-then had dinner at a Korean place with family.
LOVE LOVE the black & white mono , Julia….Beeeeeeeeautiful!!….I had an Open House at my Bee Hive Studio for WCMD….small attendance…but got to see some OLD friends & meet some NEW stampin buddies!Hope yours was awesome too!
My favorite technique is one I made up. I only have two samples on my blog at the moment but there is a tutorial. I call it MJ’s surprise (I did not come up with the name but I like it. ) Here is a link to the tutorial if you are interested.
http://technostamper.blogspot.com/2007/08/brand-new-technique-tutorial-to-use.html
It uses chipboard and it pretty cool looking. Everyone who sees it in person loves it. Thanks for the chance to win your BonBons. Love the set.
I love that stamp set. My daughter is planning a baby shower and is thinking about a jungle theme—what a perfect stamp set for that.
I actually spent Saturday organizing my stamping room.
What a great card! Today I’ll be cleaning & organizing (again) my studio. After my Friday shopping frenzy in Buffalo, there is just a pathway through it. lol I’m not sure if I’ll have any stamp time or not as just organizing that room will be an all day job. lol
Today I’ll also have to start my preparations for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving dinner as I’m cooking a turkey. Yummy! When I do have time to stamp, my favorite technique at the moment is Prisma pencils & Gamsol. Thanks for the chance to win a great stamp set.
My favorite technique right now is alcohol inks with foil on card - it is so festive and bright.
I just love MFT stamps thank you for the chance to win this cute set.
Happy Thanksgiving
Suzy
Love you card! My fav. tech. is watercoloring with either re-inkers or wc tubes. I am having fun teaching myself about directional light, accents etc to make each imagage pop…I wish I have mastered this…but, having fun practicing! Thanks for the chance to win some BLOG Candy!!!
my favorite technique or element right now is to apply Euro elements. I am trying to use more die cuts, circles, and prima flowers. I’m celebrating with Thanksgiving, since family is my most important thing
Thanks for giving us the chance to win such awsome Blog candy!
I really like simplicity when I am making a card, and I have just discovered a very easy way to make my cards just that. I love using an oval template the sponge a light oval and then stamp my design so some is mising on the edges because the mask hid it! It looks like I have an extra layer and it is so easy!
I love this darling darling set. I have been stamping for about 10 years, and my style has come full circle. I am back to cute. My favorite technique is using the new nestabilities to cut a circle or scalloped circle and painting with my irridescent medium ink. This really enhances the image.
Hm… fav technique… I like all… right now I love papr-piercing, punches, and Cuttlebug dry embossin… and more… To celebrate WCMD, I am going to have a class. :o) Need some cash to buy more stamps! :o) TFS!
I went to the local stamp store yesterday to celebrate WCMD. It was a fun time and inspired me to keep creating when I got home.
Thanks for the chance to win such a cute set.
I love your site, Julia. I’m new to stamping, so I find instructions very helpful. The tutorials are wonderful. It was fun to pick our your work in the Paper Crafts magazine (which I now subscribe to and find helpful as well).
Hi Julia
I am new to MFT stamps but i like the creativity and especially the versatility
of their stamps sets. Which i’m sure is why everyone else does also!
What did i do for cardmaking day? Well i’m on SCS and i made a card making kit for someone so that they can make 8 cards. stamped, cut, scored, embossed everything for her to make 8 cards, cut the ribbon, stamped matching envelopes and i mailed that off. Also, I stamped about 8 image RAKS and sent out some birthday RAKS.
It really does make you feel good to send out cards!
my newest tchnique for cards i’m doing is to do sketch challenges!
becky
What a fun and cute animal set! I love it! Thanks so much for sharing this and all the great info on your blog!
Hi Julia
I just love the new flower and heart set (boho?) from MFT. The possibilities seem endless. What I’m lov’n at the moment is researching techniques for my Tues Tutorial series on my blog. I’m doing tutorials that I don’t think I like but want to share, but when I finish the card, I love the results. There are so many tutorials to share. Sometimes I think I get in a rut and new tutorials make me think outside the box.
Hi Julia!
My favorite technique, right now, is using glitter. I guess because of the upcoming holidays but for now, I am having lots of fun with it!
Have a great day!
~Lynda
like one of the posts above, I LOVE my prismas and gamsol. It is like being a kid again!!
What a great stamp set! I Love your blog, you are so talented and creative! I guess my favorite technique is watercoloring…I seem to get fairly good results with that! I’m trying to get the hang of my Copics, hopefully some day I’ll master that! ha
Love that set. I’ve been doing a lot of stitching on my cards lately.
I celebrated by taking a class on how to color with Copics.
I celebrated by making cards all day. Love the mft all their new releases. Susan
happy world card making day. i spent it working on projects for my kid’s teachers for Parent Teacher Conference day on Monday.
I don’t have one fav technique on my cards. I use several, but I would have to say probably the sponging I learned during the DTGD challenges. It’s really given my cards a little something.
My favorite technique is using either my spritzer tool or my distressing tool from Making Memories. I’d probably say my distressing tool is my fave. I love how it gives texture and dimension to my work!
That card is gorgeous in black and white/WOW!!!! It just jumps right out at you and say look at me!!
My favorite technique is polish stone and the look you can get with it and how many colors yu can add together .
Lovely card in black and white! I hope that you had a nice Thanksgiving Day!
What a cute set! One of my favorite techniques is emboss resist. It has so many variations…jos coat, emerging colors to name a few. I also love the simple look of plain emboss resist. I thnk it is just great.
Cathy
Thanks for sharing Julia!
I love the distressing tool, too!
Other things I enjoy doing on my cards is paper-piercing and adding glitter accents with the Sakura Glitter Pen or American Crafts Glitter Gems.
Take care-
Leslie
Thanks for sharing all your great ideas and projects!! I celebrated by a trip to the craft store to buy some patterned paper. This is a big step for me!!! I am used to stamping with background stamps, maybe versamark for a watermark effect for a background. I have been learning alot the last month or so watching your blog and a few others and am so inspired that I am making the leap to using patterned paper. Sounds silly, I know, but using patterned paper has been so very intimidating to me and you all make it look so fun and easy I think I am ready to give it a try!!!!
Thanks for helping to inspire and challenge us who are still pretty basic stampers!! I know there is an artist somewhere in me waiting to be brave enough to come out!!
I haven’t been able to stamp the last couple of days and miss it.
I was on the planning committee for our 50th Class Reunion (1957) which was this weekend. Turned out to be wonderful and was so nice to see many classmates and spouses-110- in attendance.
Want to catch up on the challenges over at SCS. I always take time to check out your blog which I get in my inbox. Thanks for interesting tips and beautiful cards.
I have been experimenting with some fabric applied to the card with Peel N Stick. It adds a little more dimension….I cut out an image, stick it on to CS, cut it out and pop it on to the card.
LOVE your blog…..I check it every day.
Hey Julia, well I have been partaking of some WCMD challenges on various sites, soooo much fun, thanks for fabulous Belle Bonbons, I love MFT sets, not got many as yet, so crossing fingers and toes now!!! lol
Well, I’ve been seeing sneak peeks for days! I just LOVE this set - the animals are too cute. Maybe this will be my lucky post? TFS!
I celebrated WCMD by purchasing aMuse’s set #6 and actually making the cards! Kudos to all that can cut those teeny tiny images.
I lost a few little birdes when I turned up the a/c and they were the purdy ones. sniff But I rally enjoyed the celebration.
I entered (thanks to Trudee’s reminder) the tail end of the contests by our favorite magazine and took advantage of some vendors that graciously offered free shipping in celebration as well.
I love your Boho Blossoms in monochromatic! So pretty!!
What a great set! I LOVE it! I love to color detailed images and Copic markers seem to be my favorite method at the moment.
Thanks for a wonderful blog!
Lisa
Hi Julia! Happy Thanksgiving from a fellow Canadian! I spent WCMD eating TURKEY! I gobbled til I wobbled I have to say! My favourite technique/ tool right now is paper piercing and using the mat pack from SU- don’t know what I would do with out it to tell you the truth!
Enjoy your Turkey!
Diane Cooper
I love so many techniques it is hard to pick one , my very fav is heat embossing then watercoloring and paper piercing , these are just a few I like . I also love layering and using embellishments . Thanks for the chance to win this cool set ! Have a great Thanksgiving !
I just love your blog and card samples. When my best friend and I get together to stamp we check your blog to see which ones of your cards we want to CASE! Thanks for your inspiration!
Donna
I’m feeling lucky being 117! Ok probably wishful thinking…but….I sure would love to win this set…have been eyeing it up!
Always love your great ideas. My favorite technique right now is paper piercing. I love making designs with the needle and giving the faux sewing edge. I haven’t tried real sewing on my cards yet, but hope to some time.
It might sound boring, but I love sponging edges… it just adds so much depth. I am working on getting more aggressive with my distressed edges, too — I am such a wimp and can’t seem to get a good fray on there, though GRRRRR….
I love that set! I just got Prismacolor pencils & am looking forward to getting them sharpened and tried out. If they are as great as everyone says, the pencil/gamsol technique is bound to become my favorite & replace my current favorite of dry embossing.
i actually went to the city with my friend for the day. got home at about 4:30 then had to get ready for a supper engadement. but i had got one card made late friday night (actually in the wee hours of sat morning) so that is my WCMD card. it is on my blog onecanadianchick.blogspot.com
inky hugs, Chelsey
Thanks for this awesome opportunity. I love your blog and find so much inspiration from your creations. I was fortunate enough to have a scrapbooking convention in my hometown during World Card Day and was able to take a class, help teach a couple and crop the evening a way with good friends!
For WCMD I had a bridal shower and a surprise birthday party to go to and had no time to stamp at all! Well, I did have to whip up a shower card quickly!
My favorite technique is always watercoloring. The 2 cards that I did make this weekend had no watercoloring, but did have LOTS of designer paper, which is my newest obsession.
Hi Julia! What a cute set, and so generous of you! I guess, being a detail-oriented person, my fav. technique would be using prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I love to stamp up a design in advance, then I can sit in front of the TV with my hubby and color. He “flips” the TV, and I color, and it feels like we are together!
Lovely stamp set. I would love to win. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Julia,
Great card!! I love the look of black and white…always so elegant. Lately I love to pierce my cards and use my corner rounder. Thanks for the chance to win your generous blog giveaway!!!
These days, I am big into distressing, inking, and stickles!!
I just absolutely adore this new stamp set. Can I still be included in the draw. Thanks
My fav is paper piercing. Especially the corners. It really dresses up the card and is helpful to fill up empty space for balance. I love MFT stamps! Thanks for the blog candy. Hugs, michelle
Ooh what a great treat you’re sharing. I am really enjoying all of the sewing I am seeing on cards right now. I esp love your collection of sewn and distressed cards! Great combo! I really need a bigger craft room so I have room for my sewing machine. Poor thing lives in it’s case.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Excellent bonbons! I celebrated World Card Making Day by attending a SU! workshop. We had a blast! As far as technique, I’m really enjoying Cracked Glass on my fall cards. I really enjoy the look.
Have a great day!
Happy Thanksgiving!! Sweet bon-bons…My all time favorite tech is digging out the stylus and embossing. Lately i seem to be adding the scallop border to everything.
Enjoy the day!
A Wizard and some Nestabilities finally arrived, so I had fun playing with them over the weekend. Sure would love to have my name drawn for the gorgeous Boho Blossoms set! Thanks for all you share here. Hope you and your family had an especially blessed day!
You are just the sweetest! I’d love to be entered in your giveaway.
Right now, my favourite technique is probably sponging. It adds such dimension to my cards. Can’t imagine how I got on without it before!
This is on my list for stamps sets that I want so maybe I’ll wait to see if I win yours before purchasing!!! Ida
I celebrated WCD by going to a crop at a friends home. We had a great time!
Love these new sets from MFT! Thank you for offering up a great Bon-Bon.
My fav technique right now is paper piecing. I think it so cool. Thanks for the chance at winning such a cute set!
My favorite technique right now is distressing. Your little tool looks like the item I need to get next. I spent the morning making a small album for my grandson for his birthday party later in the afternoon. Thanks for the chance to win this cute stamp set. Val
I spent a rainy card making day at the Dorchester Fair…myself and 2 other SU demos had a table…we met tons of new stamping friends, and even with the downpour (2 inches in less than an hour!) and no hydro…we were still able to stamp and chat and enjoy a day doing something close to our hearts….stamping… My fav technique right now is learning to use my new coluzzel….Happy Thanks Giving…we are blessed! Rebecca
I think my fav technique right now is paper piercing. It is hard to choose though. I also tend to sponge most of my cards as well. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend!
Happy WCD! I’m offering my customers a 20% discount on a few items. I won’t make anything on them, but that’s okay, I just want to spread the love, and encourage them to make cards, and make someone’s day with that card! =) My fave thing…hmm…well, it seems that I use my SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons & aquapainter on almost all my cards lately! LOL…I also love to use the sponges to soften the “edge” on my cards…I would LOVE to win this cute set! Thanks for offering it! =)
Well, thanks to you and other wonderful designers, I’m doing more sewing on my projects! I recently found some Crafty Secrets cotton scraps and they are so fun to sew onto a card; as you have mentioned many times, stitching adds so much texture to a card; Thanks for that!
I love your blog, and check it every day!!! Hope you had a great thanksgiving!!
Oh my goodness! I just keep looking at that monkey! My 3 year old currently calls himself a monkey (my husband and I have to agree!)
My current fun is using scallop punches…whether it be Gigas or Stampin’ Ups own…they are too fun! I just love all punches to be honest!
Always happy to see other Canadians blogging up a storm!
