Way’s to Use It…another challenge
Today’s Ways to Use it is a repeat…perfect for designs for this time of year…twill gives a warm homey look. This week your challenge is to find way’s to use twill in your designs. There are lots of interesting ways to incorporate it into your designs… tie it, stitch it, stamp on it…can’t wait to see all the ideas! If you’d like to play along make sure you check out this WT134 thread on Splitcoaststampers.
This weekend is a long weekend for both Canada and the US. Canadian Thanksgiving is Monday and Columbus Day is celebrated in the US. We’re spending the day Monday with my husband’s family…turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, squash, pies…yummm! My SIL and her husband are going to be here from Alberta so it is a rare occasion when all twenty-two of us can get together. Are you doing anything special? I’d love to hear about it!
Paisley Cowboy
I have kids home this morning for a fog bus delay. That and a few other things have really thrown a wrench in my day so I’m going to keep this a little shorter than usual.
I came across this wide piece of twill tape a few weeks ago when I was rolling all my ribbon and made a mental note that I really must try and use it. I usually use the narrower size but this wide twill is really great for stamping on. Actually, that is my favorite use of twill tape…I love to give it that extra detail. This twill is stamped with my Big Paisley stamp from Lizzie Anne Designs. I love this stamp, it is so flexible for so many things and its large size makes it easy to use.
For my main image, I stamped my brand-new Cowboy also from Lizzie Anne designs onto some Very Vanilla cardstock. Isn’t he darling? With little boys in the house, I know I’m going to be using this a lot. I colored him in with my Copic markers and then distressed the edges and sponged them.
