Cropper Hopper Ribbon Storage {C’est Bon}

I love my new Cropper Hopper Ribbon Storage! It is a fabulous way to store all my rolls of ribbon! One of the great things I love about it is the way in which you can expand it as you stash of ribbon grows. I love that flexibility! It also keeps my ribbon organized and I can easily see what I need and what I have on hand! Cropper Hopper also sells other great organizing and storage products and has lots of helpful tips on their web-site.

Where I bought my Cropper Hopper Ribbon Storage
I recently found a great new on-line store through Allison’s blog! Can’t believe that Sheila is actually in my neck of th woods and I didn’t even know it! If you live in our area…Sheila does sell in person by appointment. Scrappin’ Great Deals is a great Canadian on-line store that is well worth checking out and ha very competitive pricing, even for US customers.

I don’t know about you, but I am really tired of trying to find supplies I need when I want them. I’m making a concentrated effort this fall to get things more organized so stay tuned for more solutions! 🙂

If you are new to my {C’est Bon} articles…they are just products or other things that I love and want to share with you. I have no affiliation with this product. Edited to respond to Amy “Does the bigger spools of Stampin’ up grosgrain fit inside?”

Unfortunately no.  The largest size for this storage unit is 3.5″ x3.5″ (smaller sizes are 1.5″ and 2 1/4″) As most of my ribbon on a roll comes from Michael’s, this is not a problem for me. I only have a few rolls of the SU grosgrain but I DO have their gingham ribbon and some organdy and it fits perfectly into the large size.

To Answer a Few Questions…

I thought it was past time I answered a few questions for you…so here are a few

Kim said… Help me with shading under my stamped images to give them more depth.. tell me how :}
Pleaseee ……….

To add shading under your images…add lots of water and little color. You can always add more! I just kind of eye-ball it and add a shaded spot under my image. I used to use Bashful Blue and my aquapainter but now I use Soft Sky with it. I always love soft blues. Going Gray, Sahara Sand or River Rock also make good shadows. I usually add my shadow at the end after making sure my image is well dried. You definitely don’t want any bleeding going on. Shading under the image is a great way to ground the design so it doesn’t feel as if you have a floating cake or whatever you are coloring. As with all watercoloring, keep a light hand. To add deeper shading closer to the image, add another layer of color when it is still slightly damp. This will help it blend in better. Using watercolor paper is the best way to get a great watercolored image. Just keep practicing and it will get easier.

Kerry asked… I love your C’est Bon feature and the detailed instructions on how you’ve created your cards. Do you have a french background at all?

Thanks so much Kerry. I love doing the C’est Bon feature! I’ve missed it the past couple weeks but it will be back shortly… check back later today! 🙂 You’ll have to forgive me. I’ve been trying to spend as much time as possible with the kids before they go back to school. The answer to your question is No…I don’t have a French background…very British! 🙂 My father’s side of the family is from England and my mom was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I just learned French…to a small degree…in school. I loved it but am not very good at speaking it now. Two of my children are in a French Immersion program at school and another has a French penpal from Juno Beach. It was part of a memory project remembering where the Canadians landed in the invasion during WW2. Her penpal had the opportunity last October to come to Canada with her class and stay with us for 10 days.

Sorry…I have forgotten who asked this! – My question would be what’s one supply that you use all of the time that you didn’t think you needed at first.

This is a tricky one! I’m trying to think! LOL I more often buy things I think I can’t live without and then they sit in the bottom of the drawer! I guess I would say my Guillotine Paper trimmer. I bought it a few months ago and just LOVE it! I use it all the time and would never go back to my old Fiskars one. A couple of months ago I wrote a {C’est Bon} entry on it. If you missed it, you may want to check it out HERE.

If you have any questions you wish to ask me, feel free to ask them in any of the comments sections of my posts. If they have to do with a particular post, I’ll edit that post at the end to include the answer. If the question is more general, I’ll be doing more of these question & answer entries in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned. 🙂
