A Color Challenge Design…

It’s been a while since I had time to play around with the color challenge and as today’s challenge pushed me out of my regular combos, I thought I’d give it a whirl. The color combo is….Sahara Sand, Blue Bayou and Chocolate Chip. It is a beautiful subtle combo worth trying out! Why not give it a whirl at CC127. 🙂

Oh So Lovely, Thank You

For this design, I used the color combo with the new SU level one hostess set, Oh So Lovely. I’ve had this set for almost two months and am just now finding time to use it! The background stamp is a gorgeous subtle pattern that you can repeatedly stamp to make a great distressed textured background look. I did this with Blue Bayou ink on the same colored cardstock. The edges were sponged then distressed with my Heidi Swapp edge distresser.
For the main image, I stamped the stems in black Palette Noir ink, watercolored it and then stamped the texture stamp in sahara sand lightly over hte top. The sentiment is one of the thank you stamps from the Circle of Friendship set punched out and layered with circle punched layers. A chocolate chip layer anchors the design and is very hard to see in the pic, but I stitched around this layer. The beautiful chocolate May Arts ribbon is tied through two Crop-a-dile set eyelets.
