Flourished Flower

Published by Julia Stainton at 9:53 am under Card Designs

Another out of the box Flourishes Cake Decorating 101 design here. :) No cake today! But this time I created a flower…so fun! When I looked at the oval cake plate from this set, I saw petals and so I just had to try it out!

For this design, I had a lot of fun combining Basic Grey Infuse patterned paper to make a funky design. The oval stamp was stamped on one of the patterns with Versamark ink and then embossed with Copper embossing powder. After cutting them all out, I adhered them all together into a flower shape on top of the stitched center panel.

My next step was to pull out my new Making Memories Grommet tool. I’d been eyeballing it for some time and finally took the plunge and bought it! :) So cool! It is just like eyelets only HUGE! The grommets come in two different sizes in all sorts of colors. You can set circles or some funky flower grommets as well! Super cool!

I decided to put the sentiment right in the center of the grommet so I stamped the Friend sentiment from the new Flourished Words set on a scrap of more Infuse patterned paper and adhered it behind the layer. The 5.25″ square card base of regal rose was layered with a piece of the Infuse paper that had been sanded along the edges for definition and then stitched.

Thanks for stopping by this sunny summer Sunday. You may have noticed I’ve delayed my{C’est Bon} article. It will be posted on Monday or Tuesday. I’m just having some camera problems today and so it will be posted when I get them resolved. :) If you haven’t already noticed my Belles Bonbons entry a couple days ago…make sure you enter to win by commenting on that entry by Tuesday noon. :)
