Color Challenge!

Published by Julia Stainton at 10:41 am under Card Designs, Challenges

I love color challenges! Wish I had more time to play every week but I do them as I can! Today’s color challenge seemed to be a good way to ease back into stamping mode with a cute little card. I have a few deadlines to meet and I thought this would be a fun warm-up. Today’s color challenge CC121… Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip & Old Olive…is a darling combo pulled from the new Basic Grey Infuse line. I can’t wait to get mine! I wish Canada Post wasn’t SO slow!

I decided that my new Daisy D Baby Girl Nursery line in the soft pinks would work really well for this color challenge. Love the dots. I was inspired to use this darling My Favorite Things stamp by my friend Michele Boyer who has been designing the cutest cards with their stamps lately! You need to check it out!

Good Friends…Priceless!

I just love the sentiment on this card! It is such a blessing to have good friends! This color combo works well with this girlie sentiment, paper and image. To add to the feminine look, after watercoloring the image, I added some stitching and a cute little Prima flower. I just adore velvet ribbon and this olive ribbon from May Arts is gorgeous. I added a little Hodgepodge Hardware buckle to it to resemble a belt. I love a shabby chic look and these colors were perfect for that style. To create this look…I distressed the edges by sponging them with Chocolate chip ink and “ruffled up” the patterned paper with my fingers. Quick and fun! And I am back stamping again! Yippee! :)

I love your answer to the color challenge. You have reminded me that just because something may be marketed at “baby girl” there are many more ways to use it.

Julia this is just divine! I love that patterned paper, it is just the perfect shade of pink. I’ll be looking for it (although I’m betting that I can find it in Lindsey’s store)! :-)

I keep eyeing this set too. It just seems to make perfect girlfriend cards.
