Just Checking In…
Just thought I’d check in. It has been a busy few days. My mom’s funeral yesterday was lovely. Just as she would have wished it to be. The words at the service captured her perfectly. It all still seems a little unreal. Very real, but at the same time, not. I know that I will miss my mom for the rest of my life. I was going to say more, but right now, I just don’t feel I can. I just wanted you to know, I’m doing OK.
I received the most beautiful vase of white lilies on Sunday from my dear friends Lindsey, Michele and Trudee. Thanks so much, my friends! I was so touched by your thoughtfulness and care. Sometimes it is hard to believe I’ve never even met the three of you!
Thanks so much to all of you who have supported my family and I and taken the time to post your condolences. I’ve gotten a lot of comfort from your words. So many of you have gone through similar circumstances and I apprecitate you sharing them with me.
Today I’ve spent my day being with my two little boys. The older three are back to school. Exam time here at the high school and my daughter’s elementary school graduation next week. I’m holding my little ones close and enjoying spending time with them again. The past few weeks and especially the past few days, I’ve hardly been here and they are feeling a little unsettled. I’ve promised them I won’t leave the house again for a few days.
As for designing, I haven’t had the time until today and I’ve been busy trying to get the house back in order. I’m hoping some inspiration will strike soon. I have projects and deadlines to complete in the upcoming weeks and I think, once I get started again, it will be a good outlet for me. I’m just taking it one day at a time, taking the time to enjoy my family and my memories of my mother and best friend.

I lost my precious mother New Years Day 2006 ~ I think those who have lost mothers somehow have a certain understanding or feeling that no one else knows. I’m truly sorry for your loss and I hope you find strength in dealing with the loss by sharing your feelings with your siblings (if you have any) and in talking with the Lord… it does get a little easier with time and the memories become so much more precious…
You are in my prayers. May you continue to feel God’s comforting Love as you and your family try to get back to ‘normal’. Take the time to remember!
Thinking of you…..
I am so glad to see this post. I have been checking several times a day to see if you are “ok”. You remain in my prayers.
Hugs,
Sharlene
PS I lost my precious mother 3 days before Mothers’ Day in 2000. There is never a good time to lose a treasured parent, but Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day seem especially harsh. I just have to put my feelings out there and let my Heavenly Father help me deal with them. And He does.
Glad to see your post….thinking of you….
Oh you’re right, they are gorgeous! Glad you are enjoying them
Hugs to you, J!!
Just so you know, it’s OK to not be doing “OK”. Although, if you’re like me after I lost my Dad last year, OK means I’m getting through the day…. nothing more.
HUGS and MORE HUGS
–Just know that we all are thinking of you and your family and keeping you in our prayers. (((hugs))))
Julia
You and your family are in my thoughts. So glad to see your posted comment today. As you said, take one day at a time.
Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful designs.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We lost my mother in law the 20th of December. I too feel strength and comfort knowing her battle is over and she is in a better place.
So glad to hear from you today, I had thought it would be a bit longer. It is so sweet of you to take time from your family to let us know how you are doing.
Take care of yourself. Hugs and prayers.
Lori
I’m so sorry, Julia ~~ today was the first I heard {{{hugs}}}
I, too, lost a parent 4 1/2 years ago. It gets easier, eventually, but the pain never quite goes away. You’re doing the right thing, just being with your family, especially your little ones. I don’t know what I would have done without my kids, who were so young at the time. Don’t worry about designing anything until you are ready!! Big hugs to you & your family!!!!
Thank you for posting an update to let us know how you are doing. I know many, many people are thinking of you during this difficult time. Hugs to you!
I’m so glad the funeral was just what your Mom would have wanted - that helps so much.
I read your blog everyday. I’ve been shedding tears as I read the comments and your entry. I feel as though I’m close to you and your family and I feel the loss. I just can’t even imagine loosing a parent. I’ve been blessed, but know the time is not too far off as my father is 72 and becoming weak. May God hold you in his hands and heart. May you feel his arms surround you. May you feel the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
I like so many others, I have been checking daily to see if you are ok. I’ve never met you, but I empathize with what you must be going through….You and your family are in my prayers…..
Julia, I’m so sorry at your loss and thankful that the funeral was a sweet tribute to her. I lost my mother 17 years ago. As the years go by I have discovered that I see her and feel I am near her in everything that is beautiful and gentle and it brings me joy. I pray for you and for your family that your hearts will heal. Cherish those you love as I know you are. Loving thoughts. Susan
I will pray for peace for you and your family. My mother died in March and I can understand some of what you must be going through. Take care, know that there are many people praying for you and your loved ones.
Glad to see you posted. Take your time getting back here. You do what you need to do! I will continue to pray for your family. Sending lots of (((hugs))) your way.
Alli
Julia,
I am so sorry for your loss. When I lost my mother in April, each thoughtful expression of sympathy helped ease the grief just a little. Know you are thought of and prayed for by so many who care for you and your family. Today and always, may loving memories bring you strength, comfort, and peace.

I’m Praying for you Julia. I Hope each day gets a little better.
Hugs,

Julia, hugs to you. Unfortunately speaking from experience, it will get a little eaiser as time goes by (lost my mom 16 yrs ago). You will never stop missing her, but the pain will lesson a bit as time goes by. Enjoy your kiddos and the designing will come to you when the time is right. Stay close to God as well, He will help you through this.
Julia, My heart goes out to you. You and your family are in my prayers.
Oh Julia,
May God bring you comfort right now. May His face shine upon you and bring you peace.
The flowers are beautiful.
You and your family are in my prayers.
Jana
One step at a time, Julia. Take care.
Julia, You and your family are in my thoughts and my prayers.

JULIA,
SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. ONE DAY AT A TIME .
Julia,
Sending you hugs and prayers at this time. I am so sorry for your loss.
Julia,
I know that for me when I lost my father I managed it ONLY by taking it one day at a time. I think that is all we can truly expect of ourselves and even that is a lot/enough for now. Prayers are with you and I assume many, many happy memories of your mother. I must say (my father has been gone now for 13 yrs) that those memories have pulled me through all of the years without him. Yours will too…forever.
In Peace,
Tina Suzan
{{{{JULIA}}}} I am so glad we met too!
Love you bunches, so glad your enjoying your flowers…they ARE gorgeous!
Hang in there friend!
Sending you big hugs and sending up prayers for you and your family… my heart is heavy for you. I am so sorry for your loss, Julia.
