Sweets for the Sweet!

I started writing this blog just over two weeks ago. It went live on Sunday February the 18th and my counter is already over the 5000 hit mark. I think this is a cause for celebration and a little thank you to you, my readers.

The inside of my little box is filled with Blog Sweets. Some ribbon, lots of embellishments, lots of fun. If you are interested in this little box….comment on THIS entry. Just go to the comment link at the bottom. You have until Friday midnight EST to post a comment. Just tell me one thing about yourself and what you like to see in a blog. One entry per person please! I will pick a random number…if you are that number, you win. I’m going to be pretty busy on Saturday so check back in on Sunday for the winner!

If you are interested in all the design details of this little box as well as some close-ups, just scroll down two entries…it’s all there!

This box is so gorgeous. Hmmm something about myself. Waking up to snow again today, I’d have to say that I love to garden and can’t wait for Spring (enough of the cold!)

  2. Amyon 01 Mar 2007 at 10:41 am

Hi Julie! Wow, I would love to win this masterpiece! You outdid yourself on this one! A little bit about myself….let’s see. I’ve been blogging seriously for a few months now and I love it! I have to say readership really increased once I started having “theme” days. Not everyday, but a few themes a week is perfect. My themes are Tuesday Tip of the Day, Friday’s Forgotten Stamps, and Super Sketch Sundays. I’ll check back Sunday!

    Hi Julie!
Your blog is amazing. I just check out blogs, I don’t have one, and I love new ideas. Thank you so much for sharing! Your heart box is amazing!

  4. cynthia rousseauon 01 Mar 2007 at 11:20 am

Ilove the box!!!! How creative.HUm something about me… I wish I could figure out how to have my own blog but instead I just read yours and all the links!!!Its fun!!

  5. Kendra aka Scrapstampindivaon 01 Mar 2007 at 11:20 am

seriously, i think i need that box! julia I told you yesterday how much i love this candy box - it’s just gorgeous - very clever! hmmm one thing about me……..I do my housework on my lunchbreak so I have time to stamp in the evenings after dinner hee hee

  6. Jackie in NCon 01 Mar 2007 at 11:32 am

That box is beautiful! Hmmm…one thing about myself…well, I am a big time procrastinator. If I have a project or class coming up I usually wait till the day before and work like a fiend to get it done. I’m working on changing that!

  7. Crystal Beckon 01 Mar 2007 at 11:39 am

That box is beautiful! I hardly seem to get to stamp anymore… i have a 1 1/2 year old! :) So i lurk around the blogs… when she isn’t on top of the keyboard! For ideas to help my creativity come faster when i do get to sit down alone….

    Crystal

  8. Robinon 01 Mar 2007 at 11:51 am

OMG! Julia what a great idea to use the inside in this way (I would have thrown that part away)! Just beautiful. As for me, hmmm…I guess it would have to be that I get up at 5 a.m. so I can have a quiet cup of coffee, blog browse and quiet stamping time before the kids get up (they’re early risers)- my day wouldn’t be the same if I couldn’t start it with stamping! LOL!

  9. BethanyPaullon 01 Mar 2007 at 11:51 am

Julia, I just stumbled onto your blog today, and what do you know?…BLOG SWEETS. And what gorgeous sweets they are. Love how you decorated the box and used the candy separator for your goodies. I love seeing both cards and other projects on blogs. Oh, and reviews on new products you’ve tried. Something about myself? Hmmm…well, I have no children other than my soon-to-be 5 year old dog Buster, who probably gets spoiled more than the average child.

  10. Donnaon 01 Mar 2007 at 11:52 am

I love your work on Splitcoast and now your blog is one that I check almost daily (the box is gorgeous!). Something about me: I’ve only been stamping for a short time but am completely addicted. What I like to see in a blog: pretty much exactly what you’ve done - designs and details (although I loved the recipe you posted recently also!). Thanks!

  11. Kyla Leanharton 01 Mar 2007 at 11:55 am

I love your blog and I like to see everything on a blog…general “musings”, projects, whatever…

  12. Tayloron 01 Mar 2007 at 12:01 pm

Julia, you’ve got the best ideas! I love your little blog sweets and you’re so sweet for offering the giveaway! They would be the perfect sweets for me because my hubby and I have given up the real sweets for a while! :) (you think I could say sweet one more time in the above post! LOL!)

  13. peggyon 01 Mar 2007 at 12:24 pm

What a nice treat you are sharing! I am fairly new to stamping and would love to start scrapbooking. It seems a bit overwhelming but maybe mini ones focused on a trip or event would be good to start with.

I like variety in blogs - which you do — sharing all of your projects (digiscrapping/recipes/cards/etc).

  14. Laura Desg.on 01 Mar 2007 at 12:34 pm

Hi!! I love your ideas!! Your box is amazing, and so are all of your projects! One thing about me….. well, I love to stamp and scrapbook and make cards. What I like to see in a blog…. I love reading people’s stories…. I think it’s interesting, hearing about other people’s lives!!!!!
    Laura

  15. Allisonon 01 Mar 2007 at 12:43 pm

What fun! Hmm…one thing about myself…I think I am a better blogger than a stamper (maybe comes with being a technical writer). I love blogs with lots of samples and I thought your showdown with Lindsay was brillant (like to see the pros duke it out…ha!).

  16. Amyon 01 Mar 2007 at 12:53 pm

This box is amazing and luscious…even before you put the goodies inside it! Thanks so much for the fantastic blog candy.

  17. DawnMercedeson 01 Mar 2007 at 12:57 pm

About me…I have a sick kid today. It wouldn’t be so bad but we are having a sleet/rain/snow storm and I have to take him to the doctor’s office.

On blogs, I love looking at the pictures people post. I guess that means I should be adding more picutres on my own blog!

  18. lilianon 01 Mar 2007 at 12:59 pm

what an amazing box of goodies!

i love seeing card creations and technique tips on blogs. =)

  19. Mary Rogerson 01 Mar 2007 at 1:40 pm

Hmmm, one thing about myself…. I love watching Lizards in the garden. They’re just cute, funny little things.

Now, what I like to see in a blog: Creativeness for one, but more importantly I like to see the personality of the person shine through.

    Mary

  20. doverdion 01 Mar 2007 at 2:02 pm

I love blogs and seem to spend a lot of time looking at them these days. Since I don’t have a blog myself I appreciate the time and effort that you all put into your blogs, creating the projects/cards and taking the time to share them. My suggestion is to just have fun. I love your selection of blog candy. So many wonderful toys to play with. lol

One thing about me is that since my auto accident in 2003, I don’t sleep well at night. I’m often downstairs on my computer between 4:30 - 5:30. There isn’t a lot happening at that hour of the morning. lol

  21. Claudia F.on 01 Mar 2007 at 2:11 pm

What a creative way to give away blog candy! I love seeing new posts every day or so on a blog, since I check them almost every day it’s fun to see a new post and find inspiration.

  22. Lisa Mon 01 Mar 2007 at 2:16 pm

Thanks for offering up your delicious candy…. What I like to see in blogs is lots of pictures and a brief description of what was used.

  29. Cindy Keeryon 01 Mar 2007 at 3:18 pm

    Hello,
What beautiful blog candy you are offering! How nice! Hmm one thing about me… one of my new year’s resolutions this year was to make a queen sized quilt and I am almost finished it! All I need to do is add the binding.

What I like to see in a blog is things people have made… it can be cards, scrapbook pages, sewed items, food, recipes, etc.

    Cindy

What a great treat! Something about myself - I have been playing the violin since I was 4 years old. What I like to see in a blog - I love tutorials and/or ideas or tools I’ve never seen before. And the more cards the better!

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  32. Janaon 01 Mar 2007 at 3:47 pm

    Beautiful box…and such wonderful sweets!!

Something about myself…I recently relocated to Germany for a few years, so I’ve had to put my SU! business on hold - so now I blog instead of teach classes and workshops!

What I like on blogs is seeing what other people are creating, and learning a little about different people’s styles.

Thanks for sharing your creations with us!
    -Jana

  33. Melissa Norrison 01 Mar 2007 at 3:57 pm

I love your blog. I am a blonde runner who lives in Erie, Colorado. I love reading blogs (1) because I feed off the creativity of others…it is so inspirational to see other people’s work and (2) I think it’s great that in a country as big as ours that we have found a way to make ourselves a smaller community. I love reading about the lives of people all over this great country and the world!!!

  42. Amanda_Sewellon 01 Mar 2007 at 6:29 pm

Congratulations on your milestone! Thanks for coming to visit my blog. You know, I am not sure what I look for in a blog, but I do love your soothing design. Your blog is just gorgeous!

    Julia,
I love seeing the creative things you do. I also enjoyed reading about who you are and where you are in your stamping and scrappin’ world. It’s fun to get to know the people behind the projects through blogs.
It’s been fun to get to know a little bit about you.
    Blessings,
    Sunflower Lady,
    Sue

  44. notimetostampon 01 Mar 2007 at 6:44 pm

Oh my gosh, Julia, this box is adorable!!! It is so nostaligic looking — it reminds me of an old-fashioned sewing box full of all kinds of interesting things — I love old buttons, etc. and have many old tiny boxes full of sewing treasures!!! This is my first stop at your blog — AND HOW NICE!!! What I like best about blogs is when you feel that you can actually get to *know* the person a little better — when their personality, life, family shows through in what they write about, talk about. I never in all my life thought I would ever feel as if I *know* people I have never laid my eyes on IRL, but I now know so many of you. I like to compare it to days of old when people had pen pals — the internet has provided us with modern day pen pals!!! Have fun — I’ll be back!!!

  45. Anette Eakinson 01 Mar 2007 at 7:22 pm

Oh my, I can’t believe you have a blog!!(jumping up and down for joy!) You are one of my favorite people on SCS, I check daily to see if you’ve added new cards(and am so dissapointed whenever you haven’t posted anything new). And now I can visit your blog too! Yippee!!
Let’s see-something about me-hmmm….I guess I’ll just say that I am originally from Germany(born and raised) and came to the US in 1985 after having met my husband(who was stationed in Germany with the Army). I became a US Citizen 2 years ago.
Thanks for the blog candy contest! And for your blog- I just LOVE all your cards, etc!
    Anette

  46. Cathy Pascualon 01 Mar 2007 at 7:30 pm

    I love that box!
Just found your blog and I will definitely be back!
I love seeing your projects - they are beautiful!
And it’s fun seeing digital pages too…

I’d just love to see more projects and maybe a how-to tutorial on one of your altered projects? That is new territory for me (I do paper and digital pages), but I’d love to know more about altering items.

    Thanks!
    Cathy

  50. Ethaon 01 Mar 2007 at 9:45 pm

Ohhhh, that’s my kind of sweets exactly!!
Love your cards, they are very creative and beautiful, thanks for sharing the pictures.
What I look for in a blog? Well, a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Inspiration, Passion, Pictures!! Some insight into who the person is but not too much, technique descriptions of their hobbies, humor and perhaps a bit of regularity.
    Stamp on :)

  51. Lindaon 01 Mar 2007 at 9:47 pm

Hi Julie! I like to see exactly what you have been providing. Beautiful cards with descriptions of how you made them, supplies used, etc. Little glimpes into your life (i.e. recipes, photos of beautiful sunsets, etc.). You’re doing a fabulous job!

What a sweet little goody box. I’m thinking, duh, I just threw out a plastic heart box very similar to that - pressure from DH. Love your blog.

Just found your blog - I love reading blogs, but can’t imagine having one of my own. One thing about myself - after years of resisting the “scrapping” phenomenon, I finally took the plunge and now I know why I waited … so many papers, embellishments and ribbons, and so little time! I have now realized why I have been saving those altoid tins for a couple of years now - altered art! I KNEW there was a reason… Thanks for the opportunity to win your give-away.

  77. Lisa Hon 08 Mar 2007 at 9:03 pm

Wow, what a gorgeous box. One thing about me: I love to run with my family, what I love in a blog: beautiful art.
